What in the world is "general discussion", if it's not chit chat??

I see where you're coming from. I guess general discussion are random topics about ANYTHING. Chit chat is more like "Hi" "Hello" I dunno I tried..

"chit-chat" is talking...postings that ramble off in several directions, kind of like a regular conversation.

"general discussion" is for discussing topics...staying on that one topic and going over and through it. original post shouldn't be a statement, but a question...so that all other posters can put in their input.

general discussion is for discussing any topic that does not fall under chit chat type things. most chit chat threads don't have a particular topic they just operate on randomness and what ever the posters want to talk about.

Dad gummit!! This just blows my mind. I mean heck; general discussion to me is any topic about anything, anytime on any level. Silly, serious, statemenets, questions.

I thought we already had topic names on here? I mean if we are to stick with one thing?

Then there is " chit chat", that to me means basically the same thing.
I am half afraid to post anything that I am not sure of now. I find myself sitting and wondering; "is this right? Is this going to get deleted?" It's not very comfortable to me. I sometimes sit and ponder so long about it, that I get disgruntled and just leave it be. Sighhh...

the easiest way to seperate them is chit chat has no point or single train of thought. things in general should have an intention besides BS'n.

there is one in general right now called slow night that should be in chit chat.
