Like an 8 week old puppy
You’re right on my heels
Following in my footsteps
I almost trip when you squeal

You’re so playful with energy
I haven’t disciplined you yet
But as you dart through my legs
You get kicked in the head

It obviously doesn’t bother you
The imminent danger you’re in
Mindless to the consequences
You come back playing again

Not wanting to hurt you
I grab you up in my arms
Where you're licking my cheek
And I fall to your charms

There’s no better smell on earth
Then puppy breath sweetness
It emits the newness of life
Wish I could bottle and keep it

It’s time now for training
You’ll learn as you grow
And I’m a good teacher
Who’ll school you on “NO”

To keep you happy and wise
You’ll get plenty of attention
And when you cross over the line
You’ll serve time in detention

The sooner you understand this
While staying clear of my feet
We’ll soon become inseparable
Just you wait, and then see

Thanks, KiK, I can't tell you how many puppies I've accidentally kicked in the head before they learn to be evasive in play, because human mommy can't walk straight while they're between my legs...
