It is refreshing to see a section of the board dedicated to men and women of my age group. I see many good looking men on this site but they are too young for me. I am not interested in being a mother figure. I would like a man who is my own age and connects on my level in life experience, intellectually and educationally. I believe most women my age feel the same way. We are looking for SERIOUS relationships. Players step off. I know this is going to be hard to weed out because everyone wants to pretend that they are emotionally balanced, but no Mad Hatters please. I know how to filter out the unsuitables by talking to them for many weeks before meeting them. Ladies, let's not ignore the red flags. I have ignored the red flags many times in the past and learned to regret it. Of course, men who are seeking emotionally balanced women should follow the same advice. Some signs of red flags are if the man tells you that he was beaten as a child by his father, or his mother was diagnosed as a psychotic, or he was abused by his family. We all go through trauma in our lives. But if men want to discuss these issues too quickly, they may be seeking sympathy or pity. They are not ready for a solid relationship. They also will have lots of emotional issues and baggage which their partner may not be strong enough or equipped to handle. These people need psychiatric counseling and you are not their psychiatrist. Do not try to become one or they will drag you down and make your life miserable. Stay away!

First of all great that you stated perfectly what you want. Second you might not believe this but here goes. As can be seen from my profile, i am 33(i might be younger but please continue reading). I dont mingle well with people near my age(usually around this age you can guess). They are so irresponsible and i get mad with them. Since i dont share the majority's opinion in everything, they think me as an outcast. Gradually i learned that i am more comfortable with mature, responsible people. They share my ideas and all.
