A Country Christmas…

the strong winds blowing
thru the trees
reminds me of waves
rolling out of the sea…
water is standing
mosquitoes abound
the rain has ceased
the sun shines down…
frogs are croaking
bathing in puddles of mud
the woods are alive
limbs hit the ground with a thud…
more than a million eyes
are watching me stride by
and i’m so happy
there are tears in my eyes…
the sun is warm against my skin
my face alight with a silly grin…
i love the voice of nature’s call
igniting my nerves
as leaves around me fall…
the air so fresh
i take a deep breath
thankful for life
and the Mingle friends
that i’ve met…
this Christmas in the country
we’ll experience with glee
and a year from now
we’ll recall our history…
