What is the scientific community doing today to solve the question of alien abductions and UFO sightings that cannot be explained?

What is the scientific community doing today to solve the question of crop circles besides dismissing them and claiming they are all hoaxes performed by humans all over the world?

What has the scientific community done to solve the mystery of mutilated cattle and other live stock?

From what I can see they ignore and dismiss and cover it up.

Any serious scientists who get involved in any of these mysteries is drummed out of the community and labeled a "nut."

these things have all been researched and normal explanations have been found. That is known as Occam's Razor, a major guideline in science. If you are really interested in such things, subscribe to Skeptics and/or Skeptical Inquirer magazines (or read them for free at the local bookstore).

I already get skeptics magazine.

these things have all been researched? Really?

Have you ever seen a mutilated cow?

Have you ever heard a believable explanation for it?

I haven't.

The cows in Colorado are just picked up by the military and you never here from them again, so you don't know what you are talking about.

As for alien abductions, yep they have that all figured out. All those thousands of people experiencing that are just nuts. They put them on Psychotic drugs and even lock them away. Or just call them "nuts."

And crop circles.... yep there are pranksters all over the world who spend their time creating these things .... for no apparent reason.

I don't think so.huh

Real cases of UFO's that can't be explained.... labeled top secret and filed away.

Yes I can see they are doing a bang up job with that.

Wiki: The scientific consensus[verification needed] on crop circles is that most or all are constructed by human hands as a prank.

*****************************************************************

But what about crop circles that are never discovered? What is the point of them? Why would anyone create them?

My sister worked at a sod farm where she mowed grass. She would often come upon a crop circle in the field. She asked her boss what to do about it, and he said, "Just mow over it."

It was destroyed without anyone ever really seeing it in a place in the middle of no where, where no one cared.

A lot of work for nothing I would think... for pranksters.

I have a harder time believing that someone capable of space flight is obsessed with cutting up cows or sticking a probe up my backside. Doesn't make sense to me. Have you read Michael Schermer's Why People Believe Strange Things?

Why would I be interesting in reading that book?

Who is doing this is not my point. What I might believe and who "thinks it is strange" is not my point either, or the subject for tha matter.

I asked the question:

What has the scientific community done to solve the mystery of mutilated cattle and other live stock?

Have they caught the perpetrators? Are they investigating these incidents or hushing them up?? (Hint: they are hushing them up.)

Why?

And this:

The scientific community will systematically discredit any scientist who delves into these strange things in an official (not secret) capacity.

And this:

Newspapers ARE TOLD NOT TO publish incidents of cattle mutilations. Those small papers who would not comply WERE THREATENED.

I know this for a fact.

#10. Cattle Mutilation

The Mystery
There have been numerous reports of cattle mutilation -- that is, unexplainably dead cows turning up with odd wounds that look to be surgically precise. Their bodies have been split open, and the soft organs inside have been removed. Their eyes, tongues, genitals and anuses may also have been removed. But the most unusual element of all, and the thing that really sets off the Crazy Alarms in people's heads, is that the bodies are always mysteriously drained of blood.

Although the phrase "missing genitals" would drain our blood, too.
Clearly, it's vampires. Or else aliens are doing it to study the cows. Maybe satanic cults are committing ritualistic sacrifices. No, wait: It's unseen monsters like El Chupacabra that are feasting on the livestock!
Well, something is happening, goddamn it.
The Solution
In the 1970s, the ATF and even the FBI investigated the cattle-mutilation phenomenon. Their results? They found no evidence of anything other than natural causes and the occasional psychopath. No cult activity, no aliens, no monsters.

No missing sisters, no cigarette-smoking men, no hot redheads. Working in the FBI is surprisingly dull.
Natural causes that appear as surgical wounds? What about the removed organs? How is that possible? In most cases, scavengers such as foxes, buzzards and other critters that like beef au natural saunter by the decomposing corpse and have a bite or two -- thus the organ removal.
The surgical look comes later, when insects chew at the edges of the wounds. See, flies like soft foods, because flies don't have teeth. Same reason we go to Taco Bell: no standards and less work. And also much like Taco Bell, they prefer the softer parts of the animal: eyes, tongues, genitals, anuses and the rough edges of those aforementioned scavenger wounds. Also, if the animal's been lying around for long enough (or even short periods in the hot sun), it'll bloat and burst open, often with very clean, surgical-looking tears. And then come the maggots, which eat anything they can get their little teeth on.

They'll chew up whatever's left of those organs and drink the animal's blood, which typically pools to the bottom of the corpse, giving it that nice, cleanly drained look. Look, don't believe us (we certainly don't make a habit out of it), but what better way to demonstrate than a little field experiment? In 1979, an Arkansas sheriff named Herb Marshall got a bunch of complaints about cattle mutilation in his jurisdiction. So he got the idea to take a dead cow, plop it down in a field and film it for 48 hours in what was undoubtedly the worst two-day stakeout since Another 48 Hrs. After the elements and various creatures were done with it, the stakeout cow was indistinguishable from any other animal that had been "mutilated."

Or Nick Nolte's career.

Seriously???
You honestly think I have not read these ridiculous bogus excuses for investigations of these things?

The Solution (?)

In the 1970s, the ATF and even the FBI investigated the cattle-mutilation phenomenon. Their results? They found no evidence of anything other than natural causes and the occasional psychopath. No cult activity, no aliens, no monsters.

Then they failed.

When compared to cattle that have been killed by natural causes or predators, there is absolutely no similarity.

There were no signs of any predators.

"Natural causes" do not include the blood being completely drained, no organs, no brain, with a white skull sometimes the only thing left for the head, yet the rest of the cow/animal is completely in tact except for the fact that the organs have been sucked out from a surgical incision located under the tail.

No tracks are found anywhere around the animal. The other cows will not go near it.

NO TEETH MARKS, NO INSECTS, NO FOOT PRINTS.

(Anyway, coyotes can't take down a full grown cow. We don't have bears or wolves here.)

In most cases, scavengers such as foxes, buzzards and other critters that like beef au natural saunter by the decomposing corpse and have a bite or two -- thus the organ removal.

The "investigator" who wrote the above obviously has never seen one.

The surgical look comes later, when insects chew at the edges of the wounds. See, flies like soft foods, because flies don't have teeth.

How much later? 20 minutes? This is absurd.
No insects were apparent on the ones I have seen. NONE.

The explanation you posted is absurd and anyone who has seen a mutilated cow knows the difference between one that has been eaten or killed by predators and/or insects.

Q: How many mutilated cows did the FBI investigate? One or two? (There were hundreds!!) The total amount is unknown.

Q: Have you ever seen one in person?

The fact is that "science" and the scientific community has washed their hands of any kind of investigation of mutilated cows unless they are doing it in top secret mode.

The way it was handled in Colorado was the military would come and collect the cow and you would never hear from them again. Newspapers were told NOT to report any of these incidents.

Local law enforcement turned all of these reports over to the military.

These things really happened, maybe they still are happening. Its hard to tell since so much secrecy surrounds them.

When placed on the "news" forums or the "Science" forums they end up being moved to this one.

Is this scientific? Ignoring facts? Ignoring news? This is one example of how science and government tries to control our perceptions of reality.

There are probably many entities who claim to be God or Gods.

Did you know that Hu means GOD?

Human means "godman."

I'm not buying your "NASA scientists are brainwashed" hypothesis. I think they are just dealing with what they have at hand. They don't have the technology to open wormholes and don't have the funding to try.

What they do have is the ability to send a probe to a neighboring planet. If they find some form of life there, they may get the funding required to build something that can take a human to the red planet (and of course, bring him/her home). NASA isn't looking for E.T.s, that's SETI. NASA is more concerned with taking us to them.

Our understanding of physics, quantum mechanics and solar exploration is poor at best, and must be dramatically improved before we can even think about actively pursuing contact with alien life. This cannot be done in giant leaps, no advance in human intelligence or invention has ever done so. This is a slow steady process, that like most things, starts out small, like an acorn before becoming the mighty oak.

Didn't Sagan launch a probe to contact alien life and isn't that what SETI was for?

i don't disagree with JB on this, but i would have worded it more along the lines of "NASA is a government entity, and has be run by the government. so whatever they have/will find has to be cleared by the government first before they say or do anything"... with that being said, i don't put a lot of trust in NASA anymore

they proved it a few times... i see people are still making things up when they can't explain something, like they did 10,000 years ago when they made up a god for everything... bring me a p[icture of aliens carving up a cow, and i'll see your side... but with all the camera's and video recorders at hand nowadays, seems like someone would have a picture of alf getting a t-bone....

Are you actually serious that they proved that cattle mutilations were "natural phenomenon..." or are you joking?

How did they prove it? Have you ever seen one?

That's the most absurd piece of propaganda I have ever heard.

You should read the book "Hunt for the skin walker."

laugh laugh

Natural? really?

Then I guess aliens, ghosts, vortex wormholes, prehistoric wolves, and big foot creatures are natural phenomenon too.

The people who bought that four corners ranch were top notch black Angus cattlemen from Texas -- and they got the hell out of there. Their beloved cattle dogs were fried to a crisp by some strange orbs floating around after they chased them into the woods.

Natural my a$$.

um... no, you won't.

People don't believe pictures, videos or anything like that these days.

They believe their eyes maybe...

I have seen a mutilated cow... after the fact, not during the operation.

It was a mind bending and mind opening experience.

In Pueblo County and Colorado Springs El Paso County, ranchers were patrolling their ranches with guns trying to protect their cows.

Guess what?

Blackhawk helicopters told them by gun point to go home or else. And It was their own property and their own cows.)

At that time (in the 60's) Blackhawk helicopters "did not exist." (officially)

So anyone trying to tell me that someone 'proved' that this was 'natural phenomenon' is full of chit.

Its unbelievable that anyone would believe these 'officials.'

We know better.

in other words, you have no pics, no proof, no anythining but your imagination... you saw something your mind couldn't explain, so your next course of action was to blame aliens.... like i said, show me any real evidence, and i'll belive you a bit more...
