I feel the need to write
but really don't know where
thinking of the souls
and the future unaware

keep thinking of the hands
that will never move again
little legs that walked to school
is how the day began

understanding bigger than I
will get us through today
the grief, the pain, the sorrow

I can never get it through my head
the meaning of one life
but to see so many gone this day
son, daughter, husband, wife

the tears that you are crying
we share with you in love

as our thoughts go up above

lives will never be the same

to the little ones that we love so
we are tortured by your death

let there be a life beyond
a place where children play
where sadness never fills the skies
and the darkness never stays
