The 70's: The music, the movies (especially horror and exploitation), I'd love to go New York, and experience seeing movies at the 42 Street theaters during that time. Also be a part of the whole van culture scene.

I lied about my age to go see the exorcist...i wish i hadn't. It took me a few years to get over that movie. laugh

I would not mind a return to the Hippie era. Doing so would enable me to date her:

bigsmile

To the best of my knowledge, Hippies did not practice racial discrimination when it came to dating.

I liked the 70's and 80's mostly due the music that I still love today.

Me too :-)

We had so much fun back then at the beach during the day and dancing at night.

Beach parties and swimming in the surf at night were the best, right up until i saw Jaws. Then it was just beach parties. :-)

Strickly 50s and 60s...

50's for the rock and James Dean attitudes...

60s for the weed and sweet tunes...

she's lovely david. date and be happy - I was but a tot when it all started......but I remember a lot

racial discrimination was alive and well thru the Kennedy/ Johnson era.....and in some ways is still with us

my parents were civil rights workers and dad narrowly escaped prison during the civil rights era - his best friend our parish priest was not so lucky. I can still remember things in auditory memory, mostly

Some people are born wayyyy ahead of their time, whilst others are nostalgic of a time gone by...such as myself.

I would be happy if it was perpetually the 70's

What about you?

Did you LIVE THROUGH the 70s?? I wouldn't want to go back there.

I have to say back in the era where I could be same age as Patsy Cline. And would be able to date her.

I'm actually pretty cool with where we're at... or at least, being a part of the current time structure.

If I had to go back to a different time though... I guess that I would be my age right around 1990.

This sounds awful, but it's true - I couldn't deal with living before then. Contraception and health care was an issue... racism was more overt... cops were, well, they were still cops, I guess.

I would much rather go forward in time and feel antiquated and confused when I got there. I'm kinda excited to see where gay rights and the legalization of drugs in this country goes. Also see *

*robots that can perform surgeries more capably than humans
*jet-packs? (please, just give all of us them and we'll be quiet)
*hover-boards
*and while we're on a fantasy kick, let's imagine a world where we stop killing the **** out of each other every time we get into some petty disagreement like two countries are two guys hitting on the same girl at a bar, and we can just spend all our damned defense budgets seeing which country can build the best drones, send them to fight against each other, and when the drones lost we could just say, "Okay, fine, take her."

They'll probably give us weed and gay marriage to appease all the other rights we're going to lose... but jet-packs...

A man can dream.

70's - Reality checkshocked

I'm also pretty good with where I am. Going back to a time where women weren't equal and expected to stay at home and take care of men? No thanks. I wouldn't be a good house wife. I have no desire to cook and clean for someone else. With someone else? Sure. For them all the time? No.

And as already mentioned, the racial segregation. Again, no thanks.

There's really nothing that would make me want to live in a previous era.

The era of America independence. How exciting it would have been to form a free country!
