Vita is of two minds, as she lay transfixed in her nightmarish slumber on the eve of the full moon in December, when Luther, the devil and father of the underworld will stake claim on her soul as his right to progression.

She must become his bride before the dawning of death and rebirth of all humans during the Feast of Transformation that will cleanse the kingdom of all pagans that lay wasting in wait of eternal damnation, or she too will be subject to death and transference.

On this same night, in the darkest recess of her mind he came to her. Devian, a vampire of the first order in the full measure of his pride and lust, the scent of Vita’s lifeblood driving him mad with an insatiable frenzy to feed on her, to taste her sweetness, devour her goodness, to gnaw away at her mortal soul weakening her magic that likewise keeps him spellbound and reckless.

Throughout the centuries Devian has walked in darkness, existing only to satisfy his need and greed for blood and power. Taking and destroying every female human in his path, desiring to remain faithful to none, until now, until Vita. This strangely captivating creature from the outer world, and he’s determined not to let Luther deprive him of the power he has over her now.

In her sleep, Vita feels a cold hand caress her thigh, and she quivers.
