MZ reported on Monday, Nov. 26 that Dolly Parton has denied rumors that she is gay. During an interview on "Nightline" Dolly stated she is not in an intimate relationship with her bestfriend Judy Ogle.
Dolly Parton has had to deal with these lesbian rumors for quite awhile. However, she feels that they are unwarranted as she is not gay.

Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade," Parton explained ... saying, "We still just have a great friendship and relationship and I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world, but we're not romantically involved."

Dolly has been married for the last 46 years to her husband. Judy and Dolly are just longtime friends who have developed a very special platonic relationship.

"Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade," Parton explained ... saying, "We still just have a great friendship and relationship and I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world, but we're not romantically involved."

Dolly Parton has commiserated with Oprah Winfrey as she's had to deal with the same lesbian allegations for years. Oprah Winfrey is and a committed relationship with Stedman Graham; however, it has been rumored for years that she has a lesbian relationship with her best friend Gayle King.

Dolly has been able to bond with Oprah over these gay rumors.
Like Gayle, her friend, Judy, my friend ... [people] just think that you just can't be that close to somebody."

Do you think it's possible to have a close relationship of the same sex without being labeled as gay or lesbian?

She is not a Lesbian but I think she is probably Bi-sexual. She is a swinger and most of the women in the lifestyle are Bi.

Oprah is def a lesbian with Gayle King though. All the signs are there.

If Anyone thinks Dolly Parton is a Lesbian I can tell you straight up that is bullcrapp. talked to her, hung out with her, and had some girl chat that guarantee you was not about other women even remotely being what she is attracted to.

Once upon a time performers used to travel across country in caravans or even sometimes by bus and take down time in my hometown where most of them could walk around unrecognized in civilian clothes, rent rooms cheap even be joined by families, eat homestyle food, hunt, race cars, gamble, and actually rest between gigs in Kansas City and Denver and do some promo stops to get air time on the radio for billboard pumping.

People will put this kind of "stuff" out there to hurt the competition or just because people have to knock down the success of others acting like they know something that they don't know at all. There is a certain element of the media that wants to suggest that people who are loved as Dolly is are part of the GLBT populations because it tears down that freeze out that would soften if huge favorites either support or are.

Yes there are some old school music stars that were Lesbian, Gay, Bi and variations you don't even want to know about but I sure did not get this vibe about her. And yea a lot of other people knew people and their business but it was a career ender, or worse, to start telling tales out of school in a BIG business where a lot of money changes hands.

It is possible to have a close relationship with either sex with out being involved sexually or romantically.I have two best friends, One male, one female, and I love them both but I am not and never will be romantically or sexually involved with them.

I think some people are going to lable you, but not all, if you have anything remotely close to a true friendship with a same sex person. Or if you have a plutonic relationship with and opposite sex person.

Kind of stupid if you ask me. That or jealous.

Makes me wonder more about a person's mental health normalcy than their gender identity how some obsess on trying to figure out where other people assign themself.

I happen to go to a Reconciling Methodist church because it has many ministries I support before I even knew it was and I have had bigoted people actually harrass me for it but I am not changeing my church or where I am attracted. Being Lesbian is not "catching". I defintely have enough self control to keep my attractions where they are appropriate. And just because I tolerate the rights of others to make their choices does not mean their mine. Or that I feel I have to force mine on anyone else.
