As the rain begins to fall,
My life comes to an end. My thoughts are as empty, As the house I am in. As the outside light, Starts its quest for night. The shadows dance a, Jig to torment and fright. As I look down the hallway, What do you think I should see? A twisted and evil hand, With its finger pointed at me. Before he could accuse, I run into a darkened room. With a flash I see my mistake, Before I heard the boom. Ensnared! I am trapped, And my heart starts to race. I must await my accuser, Is this fear I will face? As the lightning sparks the night, My accuser lets out a shout. Its strangling and gruesome voice, Shakes me until I pass out. In my dreams the accuser is, Waiting for the right time. It is almost at the witching hour, As the clock starts its chime. I yell at the accuser, What have I done? For you to twist my life, And keep me on the run. I never bother anyone, I never talked to a soul. So why do you follow me, And treat me as a ghoul? As my lips start to quiver, And the tears cascade like rain. I feel a hitch in my chest, And it brings a little pain. My accuser is my conscience, And for my acts I must atone. To forget about my life, That I have lived alone. |
