He was called a communist, a socialist, a Muslim, an anti American, was not born in America, all was said by racists, the hamstringing attempts only wasted time and divided the country. And he won!!, with all the ugly attempts to derail everything he attempted to do, and still he won. But the best thing out of all this is the crow thats on the face of all those who had nothing to do but spew nonsence and racist innuendo disguised as patroitism. Now ill enjoy their silence as they dwell in misery. Now that is the best part of all.  Misery? You realize Obama came very, very close to losing the popular vote and that shows most American's are not happy with him and don't think he should be POTUS. Except that since he did win, it shows that the majority does think he should be President. 1 problem with that theory.... MOST stayed home and didn't vote out of frustration of not having a candidate worth voting for on the ballot! Fewer voters turned out than any time in history! The zombies wanted more foodstamps and free phones, the illegals wanted more amnesty and the dead figured if Obozo could be re-elected with his record he might be able to bring them back to life.... so they "got out the vote" If someone stayed home and didn't vote and is upset, there is no one to blame but themselves. Can you show me the stats that show that voter turn out was the lowest in history? I read it this morning, will try to find it again and post it, but the story was that most voters were more interested in the issues, and fewer voted partylines for presidential choice with options or write-ins..... not enough to make a difference from (2 party) votes cast, but fewer votes for the 2 party candidates for POTUS than anytime in history! Obozo still won the electorial from the votes cast, but the average was about 40% of registered voters voting party lines (Rep/Dem) Less than 50% of registered voters taking part. If you just read it this morning, I'm sure you'll have no problem finding it again. It's interesting, though, as I've been hearing how high voter turn out was in many places. So, I'm looking forward to reading what you read. |

I'd really like to see that link to number of votes cast, too. I can't find anything on a preliminary search except for early votes. I'd really appreciate it if you could find it. Seems a little early for a summary of total votes, but I'd love to see it anyway.
I'm not into Schadenfreude but I am very happy that Obama won and some of the more extreme candidates were rejected. I hope there is at least a slightly higher chance now that the two parties can work together better. |

My faith is once again renewed in America. There is so many bigots (bigoted against races, cultures, sexual orientation, religion, etc...) that you begin to feel they are the majority and you and your ilk are the minority. And then Americans come through yet again to prove that the bigots really are the minority.
I needed this and so did so many others who have been beaten down by the hatred that has been so prevelant here since a non white president was elected. Oh I know is not the end of the hatred but to feel that there are so many who really do care about their fellow humans regardless to race, religion, culture, background, etc... is refreshing to the spirit. |
