Topic: Less than 200 people showed up for Barry in Cleveland | |

Good thing Stevie didn't see the crowd. Or, lack of.
Cleveland.com is reporting that fewer than 200 people showed up for a unique get-out-the-vote rally for President Obama featuring legendary musician Stevie Wonder. Located at Cleveland State University, Brandon Blackwell of The Plain Dealer writes that the event was primarily to encourage early voting, but that perhaps Obama supporters weren’t given enough warning to clear their schedules for the mini-concert. Blackwell relates: Obama for America Ohio, which hosted the rally, informed its nearly 34,000 followers on Twitter about the event around 10 a.m.(Out of 34K followers....200 showed up ) “Perhaps it wasn’t advertised properly, but the people who are here are fired up,” said Bill Milhoan, of Mentor. Milhoan, who said he supports Obama, was one of the few people in the crowd who have not already voted. “It would be disingenuous to say I am here because of Obama,” he said. “How do you pass up a chance to see Stevie Wonder?” The event ?did start pretty early, with Wonder reportedly taking the stage at around 10:30 a.m. Many just followed the music, apparently, and had no idea they were walking into an early-morning get-out-the-vote rally. However, apparently the Obama campaign has had high hopes for the impact of the president’s Hollywood backers. ABC News wrote today that the president is finishing his campaign with a “star-studded blitz” and “banking on a final burst of star power to boost his get-out-the-vote effort.” (SO MUCH FOR THAT, HUH). To that end, Wonder reportedly told the roughly 200 people in the crowd: “I do a song. You go vote. You come back. We do some more music.” Don't forget; ![]() All you Barry supporters. Get out there on Nov. 7th and get those votes in. |

You know, it could just be that no one showed up because the rally was in CLEVELAND.
![]() If you want people to come to a rally, try Bourbon Street in New Orleans. ![]() |
