Not in their entirety. Been thinking about reading, "The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money". Could be an interesting read given all the stuff going on nowadays! |

I would be interested in your opinion on it if you read it.
To tell you the truth I have not read much books by dead famous economics. I have have read quite a few books history of economic thought. I did read a short book by Galbriath once....I forgot the name, but it was about economic development. |

How did you manage to get through all those years of school without reading many of their books?? Man, you sure got the whole student thing down, don't ya?

I sure do have the whole student pinned down to a tea
 Its just the way I have been taught. Plus, there is too much to learn with so little time. Last year I read at least a 100 journal articles...talk about something to put you sleep. Only read a half dozen books, mostly on economic thought and methodology. |

I have not really studied Greenspan too much. He did a good job avioding deepening the late 80's recession and steer the economy well around the technology bubble.
He wasknown to get information about the economy from talking to various business people, such as CEOs of major industries, instead of solely relying on economic data. |

It didn't even cross my mind. Economics is all about incentives. If Greenspan had the right incentive to raise interest rates instead of lowering them (and vice versa, then maybe he did just that.
I would have to look into more. I am interested. Do you have any sources or are you just speculating? |

It's something that's been debated before in economic forums. I'd have to dig around, but there are some who believe Greenspan had some pretty good incentives. Just curious if you had an opinion since you love, love, LOVE this stuff.
