Topic: Tonight's Debate | |

Why in the heck are they debating foreign policy?!
Wouldn't everyone rather hear more about how they are really going to improve our economy and tackle the health care crisis? It seems like not a very important topic to end with as far as I am concerned.... Oh well. The whole debate thing as it is done nowadays seems pretty dumb. The best part is how the SNL skit turns out on the weekends. Hope it at least has some amusing moments... |

What should our foreign policy be in a recession? Nothing.

Interesting debate. Romney appears to resist taking available shots.
Obama appears to have difficulty with the truth ("We have never had a better relationship with Israel than we do now!") |

I thought that Obama won this one technically on policy but his
strident and combative tone was a turn off and you are right that his incredibly poor and inexplicable performance in debate one is what everyone is going to remember for ever and ever! What a balls up. And metal is right it was a bit weird. Romney couldn't seem to take advantage of opportunities tonight and Obama's attempt to assert that relations with Israel were hunky-dory was just laughable as was the lame-o description of his tour of the radical Islamic countries and failure to address the weak apologetic tone with those same countries. ¡Ay, caramba! Well that is certainly going to make everyone rush to the polls. Not. Horses and Bayonets was the best Zinger...so you have to give that to Obama. But Bill Clinton won the debate in his excellent pre-debate interview. Jimmy Carter once again was the big loser with his "Hopeless" proclamation from senilityland that the Mideast peace process is dead and blaming it on Israel even though it is obvious to everyone else in the world that it is Israel's neighbors who want victory instead of peace. It is not clear whether Clinton's performance here can compensate for Carter's brain farts of despair. |

It is not clear whether Clinton's performance here can compensate for Carter's brain farts of despair. "horses and bayonets" was not a valid zinger... it was explained by some commentators that actually we have more bayonets in our military artillary now than ever. Obama was being flippant and condescending, at every opportunity! besides... The rugged terrain of some deployments made it necessary for soldiers to learn how to ride. Special Forces personnel go to bases, such as Fort Bragg, North Carolina to learn to ride.
