Really? Except for your facts don't check out. Estimation of Max north American Indians were 8-18 million and estimated death are 90% from disease. And most deaths were before America was even a country. But I guess you consider the black death a European Holocaust don't you?

Columbus certainly cannot be held responsible for everything that any
immigrant to North America ever did. What happened to the Native
Americans was a horrible tragedy but involved a large number of
immigrants from all the European countries which were colonizing
North and South America at the time. It is likely that many more were
killed and abused in South America than in North America actually.

The history of humankind is replete with such incidents of clashes of
cultures and dominance and one can decry them all from the Hawaiian
Islands to African slave trade and the Mongolian Invasion and the
Persian empire.

Fortunately many people survived to carry on some of the cultural
traditions and for that at least we can be grateful. And now we
can stand up against those who vow to "wipe" others from the face
of the map like Iran's and other Arab and radical Islamist promises
against the Jews of Israel. And we do stand up against such ignorant
extremism and expose such efforts as bigotry and hatred of the
vilest sort.

Fixed it. What I was saying is that the abuses of the Native
Americans were not due to Christopher Columbus and fall short
of genocide...while other historical campaigns also abused
various populations and some like the calls from Iran actually
do appear to be calls for genocide.

It is hypocritical of course to lament the Native American's loss
of their homelands on the one hand and on the other hand advocate
that the Jews be forced out of their homeland in Israel.

I agree that in general the battles with varying tribes did not
constitute genocide of the entire Native American population.

Even the Trail of Tears clearly stopped short of genocide. As
abusive as the relocation was, it did not end with massacre of the
survivors like it does in historical genocides.
