Sorry to hear that. Did they tell you in what area you failed? It could be something you could work on and try again at a later time.

Sorry to hear your dissappointing news as I sure know how it feels.

I went for induction thinking no problem; as athletic and intelligent as the top 10% of the nation, an expert marksman, squad leader experience, even talk of sending me to OCS I had zero clue I was going to get flagged, rushed through testing that was even then horrendously expensive and having a room full of specialists and my hard as nails senior NCO with service stripes half his way up his sleeve tearfully hand me a terminal diagnosis you could of knocked me over with a feather.

But you know what life went on. I have had a great lifetime of serving my country and supporting my siblings and my greater extended military family. Thousands of hours with great memories and friendships and if the awards are worth anymore than the paper they are printed on with every kind and rank of signatures on them from the Commander in Cheif on down it actually made my desire to do my duty realized.

And my guess so can you.

If you decide that is still the direction you want to go.

If you care about someone in the military there are so many critical ways you can support them that I encourage you to focus on that.

But you have a right to feel sad and I give you my support while you regroup your future plans.

There are so many opportunites out there for someone young I have high hopes for you. Good Luck.

Don't lose heart, young man. Think of this as an inability to qualify for the death penalty.

In Hungary almost all, if not indeed every young male had one single solitary goal in mind at age 18: NO, not to get laid, but to fail the medical for the army.

In my old country you'd be celebrated as a national hero who stood up for himself and defied the communist oppressive regime, all by himself, and very successfully!!

Don't lose heart, please. With your inability to qualify, you took another nail out of fort that used to hold up the godless communist regimes and hammered it into their coffins.

I mean, good for you, you showed with your own personal example that communism is evil.
