Nope, its just an illusion.

But what a sweet illusion it is!!

The art of living a good life is believing your sweet illusions. You don't have to be schizophrenic to do so. You can be fully cognizant that a feeling or a perception is an illusion, not reality, yet you can train yourself to choose to fully believe that it's happening.

If I hadn't discovered how to do this, I would be a very, very, miserable man.

No matter what the illusion is eventually; you have to face reality. Eventually the illusion (the honeymoon stage) wears off and suddenly you are very disappointed when you see that person for who they really are. Perhaps people should skip the illusion and be who they really are up front. It would save a lot of time and heartache. Although; this is just my thought. If living an illusion is what you want; who am I to take that away from you Wux?

Well, that's just it. In the old days, I would fall in love, but there would always present some nagging fear that it will end. And each love ended.

The about ten years ago, when I fell in love, I would decide not to worry about the eventual let down. You see, I believe all happy feelings end eventually. I learned instead of fighting the fear and foreboding feelings of the happy phase ending once, I learned to enjoy the happy phase without misgivings and reservations. It is a good feeling, I said, so why not enjoy it fully while it lasts, blast the torpedoes and all that want to desroy that extremely nice and sweet feeling.

This is what I meant. Exactly what you say, is happening in my life; but I learned, or trained myself after thinking this through, to discard the foreboding and enjoy the happy while it lasts or lasted.

I can tell you, my life is much more fulfilling than in the very old days.

I get what you are saying which is live in the moment. For me; I know that I can't make a relationship work so I just don't bother. I have nothing left in me to bring to the table so to speak so why put myself or someone through such disappointment? I am glad to hear though that your life is more fulfilling as that is what it is all about. flowerforyou

She was talking about ( . Y . ).

But if it was true love. Why didn't it last? Mine was something at first sight and we milked it along for 25 years. Looking back it wasn't true love to start with.

Hey friend.

I see your primary language is Spanish. She was making a joke and I realize it may have been lost in translation.
Her joke compairs real love with real boobs. And lust with store bought boobs.

I see now what she said there.

we met our first college day. I walked her home and we kissed. There wer e no words during that moment. just a kiss. It lasted 5 years until I screwed it badly leaving my country.

i've always been fairly pesamistic and believed love at first sight was an illusion but when i first saw my fiancee i knew i wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, sadly it worked out that she only got to spend the rest of her life with me, but she felt it too. when i look back on it i'd struggle to type the words that it was just lust, i think it's out there! maybe it's a connection of ora's or somthing subconscious, i don't pretend to know "there are more things in heavan and earth then are dreamt of in our philosophy" good luck finding it X

I'm a romantic and I believe it can and does happen everyday. That guy you see on the city bus. Or the girl in an elevator. You never know it might just happen to you someday. "When you least expect it expect it".

I stated before that I feel love is a choice. But that doesn't mean what ever that first sight emotion is cannot turn into a decision of long devoted love. It's actually likely that relationships that start with a quick attraction might have a better chance at maturing to that then one that starts with no real attraction. I am not sure.
