CHICAGO (AP) — The Rev. Jesse Jackson says he expects his congressman son to take his time in getting back to work.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. was released from Minnesota's Mayo Clinic last week. He has been seeking treatment for bipolar disorder and been on medical leave since June 10.

The Chicago Democrat has been with his family in Washington since his release from the hospital and declined interview requests. Spokesman Frank Watkins said Sunday that he has no additional information on Jackson's condition or if he will return to work Monday.

The elder Jackson told reporters Saturday that he hopes his son didn't leave Mayo too early. He says bipolar disorder doesn't lend itself to setting a time table.

The congressman is seeking re-election in November. He first won office in 1995.

whoa Everytime a Democrat is under investigation they end up having a mysterious illness so they can hide in a hospital until the investigation is over or the campaign is over. whoa Put the bum in prison and get it over with.
