How is my profile? Was it a bad idea to put a link to my personality type in the middle of it?

While I'm not the sort of person you hope to attract, I'd be willing to help. :P

The only thing I can see that you might rework would be the voice in which you've written. It conveys the inquiring mind you describe, but not much else. Who are you besides a student of life in a rather dapper chapeau? Simply put, put more of yourself into it. I realize the idea of personalizing a profile can make rejections harder as they are pieces of you, but I sincerely think that is the price one must pay.

All the Best,

Bryan

Could you be a little more specific as to what you mean by the voice? For example, do you mean it in grammatical sense as in passive vs. active voice?

No sir, I mean the 'narration,' the pieces of you that bleed into your writing. The best I could find in terms of definition comes from the ever reliable Wikipedia :P

I will consider your advice, but I think prosaic and straightforward may be my voice.

Thank you

Honestly, that won't tell anything useful, but may give the impression that you are lazy, or put no effort into your profile.

Instead of filling it with silly nonsense from a personality site, why not talk about the type of person you seek, who you are, what you're looking for, that kind of thing.

I don't think it is a bad idea. Those personality tests are pretty accurate. You might find someone on here who is who is looking for someone with your personality type. JMO.

It's not nonsense. MBTI and Jungian personality theory are part of the foundation of modern psychology. That was only a small portion of my profile.

You can tell a lot about a person by knowing how they think.

Some people take Sigmund Freud serious as well, even those who are suppose to be serious psychologists.

My point was that people are not going to read your profile to see what type of personality you are. They're going to want to see if you fit what they are seeking or not.

All I meant was use your own words to describe who you are and what you're looking for.

Not all of them are accurate. Only the accurate ones are accurate.

I can produce up to a hundred personality tests an hour, from scratch, without research, so that each will be totally inaccurate.

There is something to be said about science, and something to be said about how to say things.

Is MBTI an new type of Myers-Briggs type? I am an INTJ, but I have never heard of an MBTI.

What are they like?
