Actually she is a beautiful, intelligent, wellspoken "woman" with good values.

While calling her a girl may seem like it is a compliment she is clearly saying she find's it infantizeing her as many women do.

How many men would like being called boy?

Something must be going around... it ranks in here too.

How oft doth thou warsh thine feet? I do it almost every day, and still.

I never asked any woman if she qualified as a girl or not. If I were you, I would just avoid the subject altogether... let the men figure it out for themselves. (They, that is us, never will. We are not built for figuring out this sort of thing. She's pretty, we tag. That's what we live by.)

I think the girl-woman-lady as a socially informal addressing, is not a topic of interest these days. Yes, in the seventies and eighties a man could get skewered for using the wrong word at the wrong time in the wrong crowd. But these days we are not girls, men, women, guys, fellers or ladies... we are all interchangable. Literally.

We are drones, working and buzzing relentlessly, building the Big Hive for the Military Industrial-Pharmaceutical Complex. That's all. We're nearing the flat end of the entropy of social consciousness.

How can I say it. Talking in terms of indignation for being called a girl is counter-revolutionary and un-American in this world of cynical and business-like oppression of individuals' passions.
