I take that back, we had a combination 8N and 9N tractor that we were very happy with.

I'd take most any classic over a thin-skinned modern. Grew up with a Petty blue, 69 Dodge camper special, 318 5-on the floor with granny gear. Miss that truck.

Bro's an avid street-racer/drifter, it could be that he's never met a good driver...
BTW, the pursuit cars aren't geared well and tend to overheat.

A 1.6 liter Sentra...walking around mustangs? And your from a racing family? What kind of racing may I ask? You talk trash about the mustang...yet they didnt quit producing them like GM did with the camaro and firebird.

We're all over the map, mostly street and stock.

My Grandmother was an early stock car racer in "powder puff" before it was acceptible for women to race.
My Grandfather was more streetracing but he was on Grandma's pit crew.

One uncle goes mudding with several (12 last I asked) >>>>BRONCOS<<<<, I haven't been able to talk to him lately so I can't name where he is right now. He did drag racing as a hobby but I don't remember what his last project car was.

My Mom was a street racer but I don't know if she ever bet anything.

Bro's planning to go dragging this weekend, Tulsa's shutting down a good chunk of the city for racing. If he does, I'll bring you a number or two. He DID have it turbo'd but he never replaced it when it broke. One time I was in the car when we walked around a street race, albeit between Ford Probe and a Honda Civic tuners(yawn)... or at least...they were flying all the colors (Nitro, wings, etc.)

I'm not going to name any specific family because I'm supposed to be anonymous on the forum.

I think bro's new digital camera has video capability, I'll post something on myspace if he's ok with it...seriously, it happens all the time.

There are a LOT of mediocre "race cars" on the market, just enough to let young bucks feel good about their masculinity. Everyone has their own favorite and frankly, I'm dead positive there's a Mustang (and driver) or two that can beat the little bugger, we just haven't found 'em yet.

Sounds like a fun family. Im all into Fords basicly cause thats what I was raised around. My grandfather used to street race and run liqour in his 64 Galaxie 500 so you can see why its in my blood, lol. Im not worried about videos. You said a "stock" Sentra. And I dont ever remember Nissan putting out a stock Sentra that produced 300hp.

Listen carefully, because I'm only gonna say this once...

I-was-wrong

It's (really) not stock.

Bro reminded me it's got a Toyota tranny. Somehow the splines on the tranny matched up but they had to drill to make the bolts fit.
It doesn't have anywhere near 300hp, it's only 125hp or so. Just a 5-speed manual fluke and a really well-trained kid.
Sorry 'bout the mix-up.
We may have run liquor too, a LONG time ago...but my family mostly ran weed. LOL.

Galaxies are a lot of fun, my other grandmother had one of those (don't remember the model number) but it only went over 45 when she left the carhappy...kinda like the Diplomat she passed down to me...I used it to pull a school bus out of the ditch once. LOL.

...And is THAT why my Jeep tires where always shiny?laugh

Ha ha...gotcha. The reason I mention 300hp, is because that is what the 05-07 Mustang GT's come with stock. 03-04 Cobras have 400...and even the 98-04 Gt's had roughly 245. Im not taking anything from your brother, but it must be a combo of excelent driving from him (which I dont doubt) and some ****ty driving from people who shouldnt own mustangs.

Unless you are talking drift...then yeah, im sure your brother does wax em. No argument there.

Drift, track skills and Rally, I've driven the car myself and it's pretty quick... I can see why you'd question it vs. numbers like that... Nice, is that at the motor or the hub?

BTW, the pursuit cars I mentioned earlier were Crown Vics.

Yeah crown vics are big and slow...not suporting that car.

All those numbers are at the flywheel. About 20 or so less to the wheels.

I was just making sure I wasnt talking to some ill-informed ricer that doesnt know squat about what hes talking about.

So all said in done, at the end of the night, he who wins is the one that reaches the finish line first. No matter what you drive.

WTF is a ricer?

Nah, talking smack never got me anywhere, I suck at that..lol. I've never owned a foreign car, just little domestic cueships and one inherited Diplomat...pulled a school bus out of the ditch with the big Dipper once.

Hmm, 400 - 20 = still more than a Vic can catch if the conditions are right. :D

Tulsa cops have a system that scares bro a bit, they mix and match, they've even got a fleet of hot rodded mini-vans that can outrun some tuners in a straight line...can't imagine they'd corner or offroad well thoughdevil.

Me, I'm just truckin'...

Ricer = an Asian car or bike.

Sun 08/05/07 02:06 AM
Yeah...and to add to that defintion of ricer. Someone (usually youngins) who drive a japanese car that has a huge wing, racing rims, a rediculous body, all to make it "look" fast, but not dropping a dime into the motor. To actually make it go fast.

Only thing about cops though are the radios...hard to out run a radio. They catch up to you eventually. Ther are some state troopers around here driving SS Camaros and new GTO's.

Yeah, we had a few Camaros on the NC/SC border, well kept and slick machines...

There's a law in OK that if they don't have a straight line of sight, they have to break off pursuit, some racers have been known to box a cop in by maneuvering ahead and tapping their brakelights to slow other cars down.
