Topic: Keeping caterpillars off the tomato plant

I had asked about this on Facebook and Eileena9 told me to take some tin foil and place it around the base of the stalk. The caterpillars won't climb over it to get onto the plant. It worked perfectly!! Haven't had a caterpillar again and my little tomatoes are turning red. I'd like to use it on the basil, too, but there's lots of little stalks, unlike the one big one on the tomato plant.

Well, I had such great success with my tomato plant (not counting the to-the-death altercation I had with the thing a couple weeks ago) that I am going to try some snap peas. I have the container and trellis all ready to go, just need to get the seeds this week.
