I am from Minnesota.. and today a bridge for the highway 35W over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis collapsed...

it's crazy how you never think something like that could happen so close to you...

so far they have confirmed 7 people dead... there are I think 22 non-critical injuries I forgot how many critical...

they have stopped searching the river for the night and will continue in the morning... they fear there are more victims in the water...

they do not believe it was a terroist attack but will do a full state and federal investigation

God i heard about that what a shame so bizarre and so unexpected poor people

yeah it's crazy....

MSNBC just reported 9 dead, 60 injured, and 20 still missing....

MSNBC says its information comes from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune....

I pray for those affected. Watched some of it from where I worked during break last night.

as far as i know none of my friends and family were on it.. but 20 people are still missing as of this morning

here is a link to our local paper with an update... they have lowered the confirmed number of dead to 4 and raised the number of injured from 60 to 79

born & raised in Minn...drove over that bridge 100's of times...

what a tragedy....

they are trying to find the rest of the missing now there are about 20-30 people still missing and they had to wait to search this morning because the remaining part of the bridge was still shifting... but they report it is stable now...

they are still saying that so far they don't think it was an act of terrorism but it will take at least a year to complete their investigation... the will remove the slabs of cement and reconstruct the bridge to see what happend.. Bush says he'll do what he can to help and the First Lady will be here tomarrow...

I haven't caught up on the news yet, but last night I remember them saying that the bridge was being repaired. Man, I sure hope they weren't negligent about that.

This reminds me of the big quake out in san francisco when the bridge buckled. One of my girlfriends was on that bridge. She quit driving to the city after that and finally relocated to florida. My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and families during this difficult time.

poohbear not trying to change the subject but do you really think its wise to post a photo of that adorable baby on the internet. With all the freaks out there willing to kill for a baby i just shudder at the thought.

I just hope Twilight and Libra are ok, since they are from Minn. I know its a super big state (compared to the one I live in anyway), but it was a major road, and I just pray they are safe.
