Indeed it is, but the best way to meet people is to use the forums continuously, not just post a handful of messages. You have to post fairly frequently to give people the chance to get to know you, and separate who you are from everyone else... plus it allows you to get to know people and weed out the really interesting folks from those who are just sleaze. Also, it helps keep your profile fresh and closer to the top of the user list I believe. Welcome to the site. Good luck.
