Just wondering, but are there any lovely people out there that would like to become pen pals with me? I've never done it before, so thought I would give it a go with a fellow Mingler :)

Has anyone ever been a pen pal before? What were your experiences?

I've had several over the years from various places around the world.

Of course e-mail and instant messengers have replaced most of the pen and paper stuff for me, which is why I have almost completely stopped. But I do still do it on occasion. It can be really fun, but it just depends on how much you feel you have to write about.

I've had several pen pals but it seems like after a couple of months I never hear from them again.

Why do you want a pen pal...what exactly do you expect?

I'm just looking to find someone new to chat to, feel free to add me guys and girls, need new people to talk to, got a very long summer before I start college!

In grade school we had to do it, but we had kids from another school in Russia. It sucked, they barely wrote back and didn't speak enough to understand. I have friends from online, other female friends who I have become close too from mingle, sister woman and my school whom I keep in contact with online. We don't visit but we talk a lot about our hometown lives and it helps a lot to have an outsiders opinion on things so there is no bias, also it's nice to talk with people who have no hidden alterior motive. I like it.

We also had to do the pen pal thing in school, wrote back and forth a few times with a kid from Brazil.

I email chat with various people I've met on horror forums, and some from here.

We do have some pretty good film knowledge, you especially!

Haha yep, but I also meant some that aren't on here anymore. But it's always good finding someone to chat movies with!
