Well.....four weeks in and here is how I see things.

Bama is the best team in the country....right now. A lot better than I thought they would be.
Georgia has surprised me. I thought they would have lost a game with the suspensions and injuries. But they are playing very well.
USC is not as good as we thought. The pressure is too much for them.
Oregon is better than we thought. I picked them to play in the title game so we shall see if it holds true.
Michigan is sub par. I figured they would be but they have looked worse than I thought. But trust me....in two years, you will not want to play them.
Ohio State is the worst 4-0 team right now. Cal should have beaten them.
Arkansas would have problems with Smith as their coach....and they have. I didn't think it would be this bad. Ouch!
Florida is getting better week by week. Still, they will lose 3 games.
Team I wouldn't want to play right now?......Kansas State. They just find ways to win.

Michigan was way over hyped.the only player on their team that anyone knows about is Robinson and well....look at his TD/INT ratio.he's not that good,he's just another SCam Newton, without the wins....

So much for my prediction laugh

i didn't watch the OR vs AZ game but i heard OR pretty much dominated?

It was the only game I watched. Cats got into the red zone 6 times and couldn't finish, they lost the game more than Oregon won it!

sounds like the way AR played.Hogs had all the chances to win but just couldn't make they plays they needed to grumble

Cheer updrinker the season is just getting started

dear god, don't remind me that we have 8 more games with John L Smith as our coach noway ill

LOL that good huh?

when thinking of a way to describe JLS,the only thing that comes to mind is Sucks.good grief, his antics are weirder than Les Miles....

Hey JT. Great win for the Hogs this weekend. Hope they can build upon it and finish out strong. Now, as for the rest of this past weekend......

FSU, LSU, GEORGIA all fall. Ok, so Georgia losing wasn't a shock. But while I felt NC State would give FSU a game, I also felt FSU would win. Fact that the Wolfpack came back from being down 16-0 was a shocker. LSU has so many issues. QB play is spotty. Injuries have taken their toll on them. And that defense isn't as intimidating as we all thought. Florida should not have pushed them around, and yet they did just that. Georgia? Well, as much as I like Mark Richt, as long as he is the HC at UGA they will never win a National Champioship. Notre Dame seems to be for real. KSU just keeps winning. Geno Smith took a beating and still WVU beat Texas. And Oregon is rolling. Man. If it does end up being Bama vs. Oregon for the BCS title then it will be one hell of a game. But it's still a long season. Anything can happen.

Not only did Mizzou say all that smack, but they also talked about how they would beat Bama. Well guess what? This Saturday Bama goes to Mizzou. Ummmmm...I expect Mizzou to put up a fight but Bama will crush em! Lol. Welcome to the SEC Mizzou.

Man. What a weekend! All those fans out there who were happy that the SEC was gonna be out of the BCS title game. Well guess what? Your worst nightmare just came true. And not only that, there is the chance that the BCS title game could be another all SEC affair. Oh how the world would love that again right? Lol. Anywho, this coming weekend has so much riding on it.

Notre Dame- Win, and you are in Irish. Lose, and you have proven that your luck has run out. And, if Bame, Georgia and Florida all win (with an Irish loss) it would be highly likely that the SEC would get two teams in the BCS title game.

Alabama and Georgia- They should both blow out their opponents this weekend. If this happens (and ND wins) then UGA and UA play for the SEC title and a shot at the Irish.

However......

What if ND, Bama and UGA all lost? Oh man....the chaos! Lol.

I think ND will lose to USC. I know that USC is playing the game with its' backup, but SC needs this win in a major way. Plus, this is the most talented team ND will have faced (as far as offense goes). And I just feel another upset brewing.

JT....your Hogs aren't the only team looking for a new head coach. Tennessee, Kentucky, and I believe after the Iron Bowl that Auburn...will be searching for someone to turn things around. If I was an AD looking for a coach, my list would be....

1. Chris Peterson- I don't know if he will leave Boise, but Tennessee, Auburn and Arkansas need to try hard to persuade him to do so.

2. James Franklin- Two seasons at Vanderbilt and he will have them in back to back bowl games. And accomplishing this at Vandy is unheard of. And yet, Franklin has done this. Most impressive fact is how he has recruited at Vandy. Imagine him recruiting at a major football program.

3. Charlie Strong- I honestly feel he would be a great fit at Arkansas. He turned Louisville around in three years, got rid of the stigma of the team being undisciplined, and changed the culture. I bet he would help Hog fans forget Petrino.

4. Al Golden- I love this guy, and if it weren't for the uncertainty that surrounds Miami right now, I would not suggest him. Not sure he would leave Miami cause he has such a young team with a bright future. But the NCAA is gonna lay something on the U for one stupid booster. And that may be enough to persuade Golden to leave.

I know Petrino is available, but I would avoid him. Briles from Baylor seems to be a favorite for many, but I still find him to be overrated. It will be interesting to see how the coaching carousel goes over the next couple of weeks. Gonna be a lot of movement.

from what i've read from several sports writers is that Ark's BOT's has okaying a 6.1 mill $ salary for the next HC.that should be enough for Long to get someone worth hiring.

some names that have came up in the fanbase are Strong,Patterson,Gruden (yes some are holding out hope),Peterson,Briles,Tubberville (dear God i hope he isn't the one),and numerous others.

i might sound biased but i think the Ark job will be more appealing than Auburn,TN,and KY.we have the players to make the plays to win, they just need to be put in the position to do it.plus with all the new facilities and stuff,i think it should catch alot of coaches eyes.

and Goof, man i was pulling for Bama against A&M.i wanted the rest of the SEC to send a message to the new comers but i think they can still do it.btw don't you get tired of hearing the "Johnny Football" crap?grumble
