Queensryche- Operation Mindcrime: Made in 1988, it's wild to think that the story within the music still holds true to today. Religion, Politics, drugs, love, lust, dispair, hope....these themes all rolled into a story about Nicky, a strung out nodbody who falls in love with a whore and falls prey to the whims of a madman named Doctor X. The album is beautifully written, and the lyrics haunt you until the end. I realize that The Wall will rank number one to most when it comes to concept albums. But I never felt an attachment to that album the way I did with Mindcrime. Eyes of a Stranger is one of greatest rock songs period.
Public Enemy- Fear of a Black Planet: Probably the most important album ever made. Iron Maiden- Seventh Son of A Seventh Son: Most underappreciated album they did. |

Damn, Goofball said the one I was thinking of, Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime.
I think Mudvayne's album L.D. 50 falls in the here too according to the band, they said it was a concept album. |

Concept albums always fascinate me! I think they interest me the same way that a movie character does :). I just love the way someone can create a new character out of nowhere. If any of those characters on them concept albums, never became an album theme, I wonder if any would have been made into a movie instead. Sorry. My imagination tends to run away with me quite a lot.
