Kind of unusual behavior for her. She just started doing this a few months ago when I moved into my sister's house. She used to always sleep up on the bed with me. I've done some research and got a few explanations. Anxiety, being around other dogs that she's not used to, comfort (den), sick (but she's not sick...physically anyway).
Any thoughts or suggestions? |

Could you pick her up and put her on the bed and just snuggle a while with her? Teach her that it is a safe place!

I think I figured it out. Shes freaked out by the other dogs barking. When they are away in the other room & quiet, she gets up on the bed & snuggles with me. If they are out & about in the house making noise, she hides under the bed. She has anxiety issues. Poor girl.

Does she lick your hands from under the bed? Just remember "Maniacs lick hands too!"

Haha. No. I usually sleep with my arms under the pillow. She just jumps on the bed and licks my face if she wants to wake me.

Sounds like stress. Is there anything else that is unusual? How long ago did you move into a new place? What is the environment like? Is there a lot of room? Aggressive dogs? |
