Topic: Put up or Shut up!!1 | |

I am offering to meet after an initial contact of interest and I would even drive to a public place 1/2 the distance. After emailing the fellow says, we should talk on the phone first and see if we "click". Well, OK, here is my phone number. 4 days later, a viewing in my profile and no call, WHAT is up with that? Did I call your bluff???? Wanting to meet? Are you here to meet or play games??? I am dead serious, you fool!! Put up or Shut up!!1

Wow, I'm sensing a bit of anger

Sounds like he did you a favor by not wasting too much of your time. Yeah, he could have been more honest and upfront, or never even contacted you, but at least you didn't invest too much in him before he disappeared.

Thanks for your responses, this has happened after viewing the Meet me match. I respond and they don't follow through, so I am wondering if it is a shy person behind a computer and when you actually want to meet they chicken out??

Sadly people back out for various reasons and sometimes things do happen that are unforseen; car accidents, lay offs, death in the family, even fear that something small is going to generate a highly hostile response.
I do think some people just play to see if they can actually get a phone number as the only goal. Sometimes it is to call and see if you are home to harrass or rob your home while you are away. NEVER give out your home number to someone you have not met. They can find out where you live, get a satelite picture of your home and even your car and a great deal of information about you that may or may not be accurate. Men are tired of getting tangled up with women who are married or have various public records that identify them as "troublesome" and are buying into information systems in an effort to avoid them. Not every person on line has "all their marbles" and before making public chastizations of someone who now knows where you live and could do any number of retalitory things you might want to edit your response. I understand you think you are being anonomous but the person may not. Better to be safe than sorry no matter how frusterateing this experience is to you. |

I've had a few of those and I never could figure out what they were up to

Yeah it seems to be fairly common from what I understand. I dunno if it is shyness, or someone playing games or possibly someone running around behind someone's back and it just got too difficult to keep up properly... but better to go in this direction that meet up with some possibly half baked loon or fly by night romeo.

I have been made aware of this pacificstar, I have a google account and never reveal my last name. I worked with police for too long. LOL I have had 25 "matches" and out of all of them I have had "0" response, so it makes me wonder if all of them are playing games.??? |

Ok as long as you know a phone number gives your first and last name.
I don't know what to tell you about strikeing out on Mutual Matches. Sometimes it is lucky sometimes not. I have made several nice friends that way but no serious romance. Couple of local friends have actually married their mutual matches. Until recently a 24/7 caregiver that sometimes cramped my social life so guess we will see how things change. Good luck in your search. |

Two words for you.... Move on. Someone on the forums commented once that 'the flow has to be just right'. I thought that was an insightful comment. Who needs indecisiveness? It is simply confusing. :-)
