Chemicals can do that, a lot of public pools will dump more then the suggested amount because of a greater then normal use of the pool. Also,they think that, with heat,they need more then they would use when it's cooler because of bacteria. I have been swimming for most of my life,and the best thing I've found for my hair is a leave in treatment called Infusium(I think that's how it's spelled).

Ya, I lived in Palm Springs.
I always thought it was all the old folks peeing in it.
But, really, tis the heat in summer.

No cap then, just a treatment after?


No cap after, it's a white-ish like watery treatment,and I usually squirt some on before I swim, and afterwards too. A friend of mine,who used to be on a swim team with me, used mane and tail conditioner, and she liked that better,but I've never tried it. It's an idea though to try also.

If I don't put oil in my hair the chlorine does make my hair fall out for days! I don't swim everyday either

I love to swim. Its the best exercise for me. My apt. complex has a pool.and a Jacuzzi and I swim at least 3 times a week. :)
