my daughter (2 years old) has been complaining that her left knee was in pain, but on and off. Im not sure what it was...she wont bare her weight and asked me to pick her up...i didnt see any swelling or bruising on her both knees..the first pain was around late evening and it lasted for about 5 mins...the pain came again after 3hrs...so far she has been complaining for 3 times already. It breaks my heart when i heard she was crying loud in pain...as what i know, this is maybe growing pain..but is it normal?i will take her to see the doctor if she in pain again. She is normally an active kid. She does jump, run, can stretch today...hopefully she will continuely active as she normally does.

Does anyone else's kid(s) have had any experienced like this?

My boys didn't have growing pains till they were much older. I would deff take your child to the doctor if they keep complaining of pain. Kids could get hurt very easily and we might not even know it. They cry one second and then go play but come back and complain again....that is kids for you. Good luck but I would be calling my doctor for sure.

I've no children myself, but the following pages may throw some light on it, and do not automatically think of the worst.. but check she is getting the right vitamins for her joints.. and get her checked by doctor.. smile2

Growing pain is a myth. We get pain because something is wrong. That we're growing up in the process is coincidental. As it happens, my area of specialty for the greater majority of my work is in the area of podiatry. Pain in one knee could be a slight difference in leg lengths, or a sign of damage. These are times the doctor is the best judge of the condition and most of us are too emotionally close to the situation to really judge it.

Actually when I took my son to the doctor, he told me that he was having growing pains and that was why his legs were aching...so no I don't think it is a myth unless my doctor went to school for all of those years and is a goof.
He told me to have the boys take a hot bath and that would make them feel better...he was right!!!
