BOSTON – Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren pushed back Thursday against nonstop questions about her claims to be part Native American by saying family members are off limits -- but not before another round of clarifying her personal history.

Warren acknowledged for the first time that she told officials at Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania that she had Native American heritage in a statement released Wednesday night.

What proof is there that she lied?

My daughter is 1/16 Native American. She certainly doesn't look it, but that doesn't make it a lie.

As far as I'm concerned if both of your parents are not American Indian then it should not count. I believe she's a liar, it seems to me everyone associated with Hussein Obama is a liar and some form of cheat.

My great grandmother was Choctaw. I don't look it at all and I call myself "White", because I don't have the documentation necessary to join the Choctaw nation.

The outrage is that she claims to be a Cherokee without actually belonging to a real Cherokee tribe. There are something like 200 fake Cherokee tribes that are full of liars and scam artists who are simply trying to get benefits that are intended for Native Americans. She was a minority hire for Harvard, based on a claim which cannot be supported by the facts. The real Cherokee are outraged that Warren is falsely claiming to be one of them in order to benefit her career.

EDIT: What brought me here originally was the title of the thread, which violates Rule 5 "No derogatory or offensive references to sex, gender, ethnicity, religions, sexual orientation, body type, or intelligence level. " I'm not going to report it, I'm just surprised nobody else has.

A small play on words. Not meant to offend anyone.

My Great-Grandmother was full blood Chocktaw from D'Iberville. Married my Greatgrandfather from Germany. My own Grandfather could have gotten Gov. benis but, he was a proud man and unlike many fakes, chose to work fo his living.

With all the "political correctness" bs, I imagine, soon, we will be forced to call Illegal Aliens undocumented voters.slaphead

PS.
I thought that rule was in regards to other posters. Not lying elitists.

for argument sake let us say she was really 1/16th indian..

do you really think that it is appropriate for someone that is 1/16th indian taking away a scholarship or whatever it was she got from some kid that was born and raised in the poverty of a reservation?

when are we as an electorate going to wake up and say that we don't want people like this representing us?

I find this type of behavior reprehensible. There are enough personal advantage seeking scoundrels in government as it is.

We don't need any more.
