bottled tap water, ie aquafina, dasani, is ran through an ro filter, generally. that takes nearly everything, minerals and all, out of it. It is very nearly as pure as distilled water. the minerals and bacteria are what give water its taste. The bottling filtration process is as follows:

Sand filter to remove the big chunks
carbon filter to remove the clorine and flourine
20 micron, then 10 micron, then 5 micron filter to get out the smaller stuff, sometimes a .47 micron absolute filter to get out any viruses.
run through a uv light to disable reproductive dna of bacteria.
ro filter to get everything else out.
inject ozone to kill anything that the rest of the system missed
