Paul supporters want corruption exposed and penalties exacted
Kevin Kervick

Supporters of presidential candidate Ron Paul believe this Republican primary season has been marred by countless examples of GOP corruption. The vast majority of Paul’s supporters would like to see the unethical behavior exposed by the mainstream press and action taken against the perpetrators of the alleged infractions even if the exposure hurts the Republican Party. Furthermore, many in the Ron Paul Nation believe the professional Paul campaign and Congressman Paul himself have not been aggressive enough in going after GOP abuses of power. Therefore, they may take matters into their own hands.

For Congressman Paul’s supporters this is a matter of principle over party. They believe powerful forces should not be able to cheat less powerful forces to get what they want. If it could be proven that Romney and or GOP forces have engaged in unscrupulous electioneering, then, according to many of Congressman Paul's supporters, there should be serious penalties, including potentially the disqualification of the candidate(s) connected to the behavior and firing the subordinates involved. If it could be proven that there were laws broken, then the lawbreakers should be brought to justice even if they are fellow Republicans.

Update 05/30/12 - A new group known as Tools for Justice has formed to document voting rights violations and election abuses that may have occured during the 2012 GOP primaries. This is from their website:

Tools For Justice is working in partnership with WatchtheVote2012.com, RonPaulVoteCount.org, and WTPNetwork.com acting as a private, secure, centralized clearinghouse to support all concerned citizens to enforce our voting rights and restore integrity to the election process by gathering evidence through our members in our private forum.

There is one important new development worth noting. Last week, a group of Paul supporters from Oklahoma began consulting with a group of high visibility lawyers in order to determine if there is enough evidence to go forward with a grievance via the complaints committee within the Republican National Committee. If there is indeed enough evidence to move forward with a formal complaint, this could be a major breakthrough, although cynics within the Paul nation have little faith that the RNC would act in good faith. This measure could also be an avenue for civil action if it could be determined that a citizen or group of citizens broke a contract with another citizen or group of citizens. This legal avenue might hold greater potential. If this development gains any momentum it could be seen as an avenue by other Paul supporters in states throughout the country that believe they have been similarly disenfranchised. This could create an avalanche of complaints against the GOP and potentially the Romney campaign. My information is that many in the Paul nation would go ahead with the redress action even if the Paul campaign was not on board.

There is another open allegation that is still being investigated by Paul sympathizers who contribute to the Daily Paul website that is pointing to vote counting improprieties. Their in depth analysis of voting patterns in Alabama reveals a curious result that these detail oriented examiners believe is too abnormal to have happened by chance. Dr. Paul received a much lower ratio of beauty contest votes to delegate votes than the other leading candidates. The conclusion these researchers have drawn is that it looks like some of Dr. Paul’s popular votes could have been intentionally mis-allocated to Governor Romney. The authors do not know how this could have happened but it appears that something like this may have occurred.

This reporter and others in the alternative media have reported on the allegations of election fraud and party shenanigans throughout the campaign season.

On the increasingly suspicious day of the Iowa Caucus beauty contest vote, CNN reported early in the evening that Paul, Romney, and Santorum were tied in both the early voting and later voting entrance polls. Paul lost to presumed winner Romney and then eventual winner Santorum by about three percentage points. CNN never commented on the discrepancy. The Iowa Caucus was fraught with confusion and shenanigans which ultimately resulted in the ouster or resignation of some key Establishment figures in the weeks following the vote counting.

I reported earlier about what looks to have been deliberate corruption at the Arizona, Maine, Nevada, and Oklahoma conventions. Much of that evidence is on videotape, which can be accessed at the links to my articles above. Congressman Paul and his campaign surrogates have similarly stated that they believe vote tampering probably occurred in the Alaska, Iowa, Maine, and Nevada caucuses, and potentially in Idaho and North Dakota.

In Marlborough, Massachusetts today, supporters of Congressman Paul are protesting what appears to be a GOP Establishment effort to use procedural shenanigans to discount the votes of many Republican delegates. During that state convention, Congressman Paul pulled off a stunning upset by gaining a substantial share of delegates that will be voting in Tampa. Apparently, the Romney forces are trying to remove the Paul delegates and substitute an unelected Romney slate.

Each of these examples of alleged corruption would have had an effect on the outcome of the caucus or primary in question. Thus, Paul’s supporters want all of them investigated by neutral parties and the results of the investigations released to the press because the American people deserve to know if the GOP or anyone from the Romney campaign has engaged in corruption.

Despite what the mainstream press is reporting and not reporting, the Paul Nation still believes Dr. Paul has a fighting chance to win the GOP nomination when the battle moves to the national convention in Tampa. They want to do whatever is possible to influence that outcome, even if it means some party insiders accuse them of being bad Republican soldiers.
