Topic: What would you do for immortality?

If you could live and stay young by doing certain things, (not drinking the blood of innocents or selling your soul) what would you be willing to do?

Give up all your bad habits?
Eat organic food and distilled water?
Do yoga?
meditate every day?

Think pure thoughts? ( ) <---- inside joke

immortal would not be very fulfilling, in my opinion

an eternity is longer than we can imagine

Then I guess God is not very fulfilled or maybe God is extremely bored. That is why he invented death. laugh

Depending on what kind of death we're talking about, it can be a cleansing thing or a separation thing, maybe a curse, depends on what kind of death though.

There are different kinds of death? Please explain.

Spiritual death, physical death, mental death.

Please explain these deaths.

Mental death---- coma, or brain death?
Physical death---- body dies

Spiritual death------ ?? No soul?

Pretty much. I snuck emotional death in their too.

What I am talking about is physical death.

If you knew a way to live for say 500 - 1000 years and be healthy by doing certain things that might take some mental and spiritual or physical discipline, would you want to know how and would you be able to commit to doing it?

I have no desire to live forever. It would be the worst torture ever to have to watch all your close friends and family die.

Okay, once again, I'm not asking about "forever." Just 500 or 1000 years.

You can make more friends, and more family. Or show them your secret of how to live for 500 years.

It seems clear them most people want to die.

I don't understand this at all.

No, I don't want to be here any longer than I have to be.

Wouldn't doing all of that discourage a person from living forever?

No, I don't want to be here any longer than I have to be.

Be here? So are you saying that there is somewhere else to go after death? If so, then you will actually still be "here" or "alive."

So what you are saying is that you don't want to exist at all any longer than you have to.

If that is true, please tell me why. Is life so horrible?

I don't know.

We do an awful lot in this world just to survive. We have to work jobs we hate, we raise families, go to school, go to the doctor, etc.

If life is so awful, then why not just kill yourself and get it over with fast?

I think we live beyond death, at least in some way. Our bodies decompose and are returned to dust, grass and such grows in the dirt that we become, thus there's a possibility that we live on in some way.

I would be much more content if I were a blade of grass in a cemetery. I just now thought about that one. Perhaps a grain of sand on an uninhabited beach somewhere far far away. A droplet of water maybe.

I've actually tried several times, obviously hasn't worked. Now, I won't even attempt because I don't want the disappointment of it failing again. I'm kinda over all that anyway.

Instead of immortality, what about just lengthening your lifespan by 1000 years (but "youthful and energetic" too)?

I wouldn't mind that, I'd be willing to yoga or meditate.

Its "immortality."

and yes, pretty much it means to live forever.

But I am only asking what you would do for it.

OR for even an extended life... 500 - 1000 years. (I guess most people
don't want to live forever.

So if not forever, if not for 500 years, then how long do you want to live?

Well then....
again....I wouldn't do anything for it!
If I can stay in my present good health, another 20 or 30 would be ok. See the grandkids grow up and such.
Since I do believe in something beyond this life....I have no desire to remain.
If I am wrong.....I still have no desire to remain too long in a world goin crazy and crowded!!!
