Topic: U.S. Rep. Barney Frank to get married | |
---|---|
U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, the openly gay Newton Democrat who announced his retirement in November, plans to marry his longtime partner in a Massachusetts ceremony, Frank’s spokesman confirmed today.
There is no timetable for when Frank, 71, and his partner Jim Ready plan to marry, said spokesman Harry Gural, nor did he say where a ceremony will take place other than to say it will be in the commonwealth. “We don’t have any more details at this time,” Gural said. Frank, who has held his district’s seat since 1981, dropped a political bombshell last year when he said he wouldn’t seek a 17th congressional term, admitting redistricting — which stripped his district of several liberal-leaning communities — played a role in the decision. Ready himself has made headlines. In 2010 he was caught in a Herald video taunting Frank’s Republican challenger Sean Bielat after a debate, during which Ready called him “dude,” mocked Bielat’s jokes and told him to “get used to” having his picture taken. Frank was also the center of a controversy in 2009 when it was reported that he was present when police charged Ready for having pot plants at his home in 2007. Frank said at the time he wouldn’t have recognized a pot plant if he saw it. http://multimedia.heraldinteractive.com/images/20120126/e285be_ltp110210franksc09.jpg |

I think this is the same guy that used Barney's house as a gay brothel and the guy Barney fixed all the tickets for.
