I'd like to sit and stay here awhile
Gazing at the stars in the sky,
Bask in the warmth of a little child's smile,
Comfort the children when they cry,
Smell all the flowers when they blossom in Spring,
Whistle away as the robins sing,
And enjoy the beauty in everything.

I'd like to paint the colors of each rainbow
As tears from heaven fall to earth,
Dance with delight in the falling snow,
Share the joy in each baby's birth,
Watch the lightning as Nature puts on her show,
Listen to love as wedding bells ring,
And enjoy the beauty in everything.

On we go about our own ways,
Not noticing the treasures we see,
Passing up pleasures throughout the days,
Buying joys when they are given for free.

I'd like to feel the mist of the dawn,
As all creatures awaken from sleep,
Capture the brilliance of the setting Sun,
Catch fireflies, but none to keep,
And teach to each and every little one
The joy that simple things bring
So they, too, will know the beauty in everything.
