Topic: Your greatest enemy | |
---|---|
Throughout your life, you will be opposed and tormented by the same enemy. From birth until death, your foe will harry you in your every endeavor. Dating, marriage, work, friends...every activity in your life will be touched by the enemy in an attempt to keep you from succeeding. I am writing, of course, about you. You are your own worst enemy. Your fears, weaknesses, desires, pride and insecurities prevent you from achieving happiness and possibly greatness.
For many, pride is the greatest stumbling block. Remember the story of Jacob. Jacob was a rich and powerful man who was both feared and respected. God had to cripple Jacob's leg before Jacob would depend on God for anything. Jacob's material happiness was assured, but his spiritual well-being was hindered by his refusal to rely upon other people (namely God). Jacob could have been saved pain and trouble, if he had only realized that he was preventing his own happiness. |

I got into a hurry and didn't round this out as much as I wanted to. If I could have a mulligan, I would expound more on how people sabotage their own lives through bad choices and habits. And then tie it all around to a really great book I read called "Eight Pillars of Prosperity", which listed moral behaviors which purportedly guaranteed prosperity when practiced.

I have that book on my Kindle. I think because you recommended it some time last year. |

We do have free will. We have the ability to make our wills one with God thus obeying his commands. Or make our will with anything else we wish, thus disobeying his commands. Laws, regulations, commands, ect do not rule out free will, as you still have the choice to obey or not. That is ALL free will is, it is the ability to make a choice on what you do or don't do, what you think or don't think, ect. |

Free will void of wisdom is evident with our present prison population. @ little Timmy and his Mama. |

Free will void of wisdom is evident with our present prison population. @ little Timmy and his Mama. according to the story, Jacob had acheived richness, fear, power and respect.....which means Jacob clearly had wisdom .... but anyway...for the sake of argument let's say that Jacob did lack wisdom.... THE QUESTION: why would lacking wisdom be a reason to intentionally cripple jacob? |

Spidercmb.....Troll is hebrew for Heretic but anyway no one is fighting in the thread....the thread was dead anyway..I simply "resurrected it after three days" since you were the one that presented the story perhaps you can explain if Jacob truely had "Free Will" why was he crippled for using it |

Spidercmb does the same to me as the Pharisees did unto Jesus .... also I'm asking questions because I actually want to know since I am working on a television series about bibical stories and the crazy answers that believers give ....I may place spidercmb in one as The AntiChrist but anyway here's a demo for "The Rapture" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6KC64L6H3g |
