I started using facebook a few months ago. It was really cool at first. I have reconnected with family and friends from years past. Recently, when I go there it ends up locking up my pc and/or runs extremely slow. I am wondering if they have shot themselves in the foot by trying to make there site to "cutesy". I've noticed not as many people are posting. Just wondered what other people think....... Note: Mods if this is inappropriate I apolgize.......

What do you mean by making their site too cutesy? Can't really customize facebook to look cute.

I'm not a fan, and am only on there because of friends and family.

are you talking about the timeline? That seems to be the time everything started when that was introduced.

That seems to be the time everything started when that was introduced. i really don't like that thing. it's making it more difficult for me to stalk strangers.

What do you mean by making their site too cutesy? Can't really customize facebook to look cute. I didn't really mean appearance wise. They just are always making changes and never improves anything. Like they feel the need to constantly be changing things just for change sake....

And not just FB either, there's a few sites I used to frequent that overhauled and I stopped using them because they made things more difficult.

I use Firefox, never had a problem. Maybe it's your browser. I mean, it most likely is Facebook causing the browser issues, they don't know how to properly code their site. I can't say much though, I'm too lazy to properly code mine, but I keep mine simple, so there's no issues with me.

Ah, ok. I'm not a big fan of the timeline, but I haven't had any issues with facebook not working well. That is what I was wondering. I do have an older laptop. With the changes that they have made must require more resources than I have available. I know it was running fine on here before. Now everytime I go there it locks everything up.

Or you could just trade in your Commodore 64.

You should probably upgrade your laptop. If that's the case you're better off just getting a new one. Slap a nice distro. of Linux on the one you have now. Or, you can reformat your HDD and reinstall Windows, and update everything. I get a new laptop at least once a year though.

I like fb. I've found or they have found me, friends from years back, people I've lost touch with. It's a pain sometimes but it's worth it to me. Plus, I'm hooked on Bingo Bash. : )

Sometimes I think Suckerberg used to work for the government. If something works fine as is, they have to 'improve' it which ultimately makes it worse...

Plus, I'm hooked on Bingo Bash. : ) I think it is great too. I have reconnected with so many old high school friends and I even get to talk to my great neice. I don't do the games but apparently alot of people do because I keep getting notices that so and so is now a walrus whisperer.....
