What time do you think u will make it into town Hippie. For those that want to do something Sunday he could go to Galveston. I know some plan to go back Monday. I have usually gotten home around 10:30 or 11 and it is what, a 5 hour drive? I'll fill my car the night before, and have my bag packed as well. So I'm thinking 4 ish to get there...unless I don't see any police or state troopers! |

Just talked to Carol and this is about as "official" a thread as it's gonna get - at least until closer to "meet" time.
If you plan/communicate here there's some chance we might all be on the same page! Which may be over-organized, but hey... Sugarland Town Square is really nice, so that's a good idea, Carol! No idea what band is playing there on Friday (yet) but it's free and fun. Pack your folding chairs or bring a blanket (Sugarland Blanket Bingo? Mingle pics to follow !) I'd suggested to Carol that maybe we make a trip to Galveston over the weekend -if anyone wants to put their toes in the sand and hang out doing nothing but chatting for a day. 2 beach chairs and an umbrella run $20-25 for the entire day and we could all take picnic stuff. Carol suggested Sunday before everyone went home. Also possible - Miller Theater on Saturday night if anyone is an Opera buff and up for a free production of Barber of Seville (am pretty sure nobody will jump on that offering but it's out there, anyway!) St. Arnold's Brewery has a special weekend gonig on then, if anyone is interested. http://www.saintarnold.com/news/index.html It's the Pasadena Strawberry festival weekend. Just another idea. I'm thinking the lounging around visiting options (preferably on a budget!) are the best ones and will interest the most people. We can always go park-sitting. There are scads of really nice parks between carold and my home areas... It's really carold's show...but as a fellow Houstonian/Mingler - I'll offer some ideas. Ta-da! Ideas offered! |

These are some really great ideas!! Thanks Glenda! I have no problem with any of them. Glaveston is a great place to visit..I've been there many times. Nice little shops to browse through..playing on the beach, We better pack sunscreen...for us 'whities'...I know sand and salt water is a good combination to turn me bright red!! |
