You actually think this is good for you?

What is wrong with that breakfast? What did you have for breakfast?

No wonder people need healthcare?

Because I enjoy bacon and eggs for breakfast? Think about all those lucky people in 3rd world countries who don't have bacon and eggs and therefore don't need healthcare.

Lunch today: Marinated beef cooked in olive oil, with green beans, feta cheese and tomato wedges. (sans tomato, I ran out)

A little hint..
If you need to cheat (and mosty people simply
cannot eat all protein and may crave carbs)
DO NOT GO BACK to more protein the rest of
the day.
Cheat late.
The reason is, generally speaking, protein
is higher in calories than carbs.
But you are eating less to compensate.
When you add the cheat carbs back in, the
protein cycle is broken, and you would
merely be adding back higher calories.
So get it out of your system, start fresh
the next day.

Thank you! flowerforyou

I already have, but don't let her know that I'm using her for flatware.

That's okay because I'm just using him for the sex.

Eating a low carb diet is really bad for you. It's hard to believe there are fools that actually think it's good.

It is good for you. It's been the norm for the vast majority of human history-and people who eat it (in combination with a healthy lifestyle) are in better general health.

may i ask why you're eating low carb?

Sure. I have several reasons. When I realized bread products made me sick, I researched what it meant to have Celiac disease. On that day, I quit eating anything made with wheat, rye or barley. A few weeks later, I watched the movie "Fathead" on Netflix and it got me to thinking about low carb diets. High in fat, moderate amounts of protein and very few carbohydrates, just like my hunter/gatherer ancestors and just like the existing hunter/gatherer tribes of today. So I adopted this method of eating. I've never felt this good before in my life. I have lots of energy, I can skip meals without being hungry. I don't have that afternoon brain fog that I was so used to having. My reason when I started was to feel better, but my reason now is that it's how I was born to eat.

I recently watched a video of a doctor who was stage 2 MS, she was fast approaching the point where her brain would start to shrink. She reversed it with a low-carb diet and now she walks without aid (she was in a wheel chair when she went onto the diet). On a high carb diet, you are slowly starving your body, because foods that are high in carbs are almost always low in nutrition.

EDIT: Instead of just mentioning the video, here it is: Dr. Terry Wahls - Minding Your Mitochondria

I eat more meat and less veggies than her, but her diet and mine are both low carb.

Lunch: A bacon wrapped beef medallion, blackened asparagus and tomato slices with whole milk ricotta cheese. Olive oil was then drizzled over.

I ate the same lettuce wrapped cheeseburger that I had yesterday for Brunch. I didn't get hungry today until after 10am.

When you eat a lot of carbs, first your blood sugar spikes, then your body releases insulin, which drops your blood sugar way down. When your blood sugar is low, your body tells you that you are hungry, so you eat again. This cycle results in over eating and weight gain. Eating low carb makes it so that you only eat when your body actually needs energy.

Long story short: You'll have that on a low carb diet.

i love ted talks!
this all makes sense.
most people don't think about the fact food has a purpose other than to taste good.
o.O
that picture of the family with all the processed food surrounding them scares the crap out of me.
i feel insanely guilty when i eat processed crap,
but it's so much easier than to make a salad.

What you will find on a low-carb diet is that your sense of taste will change. Soda will be sickeningly sweet. Vegetables and meat will taste better than they ever tasted before. It takes awhile to adapt, but once you are adapted, the food is delicious. And I make a point of not eating anything that doesn't taste good. Our ancestors didn't eat food for nutrition (they had no idea what that was), they ate for energy and pleasure.

It's hard finding convenient (read as fast) foods that you can keep around the house, that is a challenge. But after a short time on low-carb, you'll be to the point that you don't get ravenous for food. You'll feel yourself starting to get hungry and you'll have an hour or two to get something ready to eat.

soda is already sickeningly sweet.
i can't stand the stuff,
and i'm a vegetarian.
my mom thinks i eat the way i do because she was put on a strict diet when she was preggo with me.
she said she drank nothing but water when she was pregnant;
i drink nothing but water.
her favorite thing to eat when she was pregnant was artichokes;
my favorite vegetable is artichoke.
every now and then i cut out all junk food.
i can never stick to it for more than two weeks though.
i neeeeeeeed cookies.

Awesome, it's very good for you to avoid soda.

That is the gliadin. Gliadin is a protein found in wheat and it's addictive. It's similar to an opiate in function. Food manufacturers use a water soluble form of gliadin to add it into their foods, this makes the foods more appealing and actually addictive.
