Acid bathing someone; though kind of twisted, is not hugely likely to be realistic. Do not get me wrong, if it is serious you should report it. Unlikely it is though. Somethings repeat pooorly and get people out of whack when they hear it. I would take it with a grain of salt.

I think you guys are being a bit too literal. An acid bath could easily be hyperbole for "I'm going to throw acid in your face".

It really doesn't matter if it is a bath or thowing a certain amount the fact remains anyone who would say somehing like this is inteding to instill terror in the person being threatened and to make the person feel they have to over protect themself impingeing their freedom and that is agaisnt the law.

Sorry, it does matter if the acid is high enough content in the solution, and how valent it is.

If you spray a skin-dissolving acid in someone's face, they may get blinded and ugly. If they already hadn't been. But they won't die.

If you push someone in a bathtub full of acid which dissolves skin, he or she will die.

So the threat on one hand is a non-life-threatening threat, on the other hand, a life-threatening threat.

Each of the two draws different punishments by the judgment, if the bloke gets found guilty in either.

We should go to this guy and ask him EXACTLY what he meant by "acid bath", because as he stated it, it's ambiguous and we definitely want to settle this before the century is out on this thread.

The sad fact is there are people who do not give a hang about the law or other people's rights and when they are that far out of control they are capable of terrible things.

Can the police be there every minute of every day to enforce a court order? No but the fact that by fileing it the is not going to know when they are so it is least at some tactical advantage.

While it might seem like you are giving in it is better to just get the heck away from someone like that and lay really low so they don't know where you are. It will peeve them and they might look for you but if you don't put all your business out there you can disappear if you really want too. If someone is really that crazy it is one of those deals where and ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
