I have a 69 SS 396 Chevelle I have had since 75. I am always tinkerin with it. still got the 73 Ironhead sportster I bought in 74. Got a 99 Superglide drag bike. I do have a 2010 Ultra Classic which is FE. Love the ride but hate workin on it. Cost me 3500 just to read codes. Another 4500 for software to do mods. That Chevelle is a keeper! A FEW of the ones I have in my line-up right now.... '69 Camaro that I bought in '92 from the original (woman) owner. '70 Chevelle that I got in '96 from the original owner. '73 Monte that I bought around '95 (I just recently declared it DOA and retired it). '74 Corvette that I bought in '94. '81 Camaro that I bought in '90 (kinda hanging in limbo now after totaling it for the 3rd or 4th time). '75 BMW 530i that I bought in '99. '79 Camaro that I bought around '95 (I'm now in the process of a complete frame-off with TONS of one-off mods). '83 Firebird SE with some T/A goodies that I got in '93 and hopefully this summer will get around to transplanting around 350 horse into it. I had to let this one go years ago, but my favorite of the 80 or so cars I've owned was a '64 1/2 Stang. The Sporty, well, at least it should keep your driveway sealed. A few of my 2-wheeled toys... '70 HD Rapido (just cause it's neato) '70 CB750 that I've had FOREVER and has more bells and whistles than a Caddy (including a sidecar). '79 XS650 that I got from the original owner and is my regular rider (plans to bump it up to 750 when time allows) Yeah, those new cruisers have a nice ride (they better for the price!), but working on 'em sure ain't the same as they used to be..... Quite a collection Bro..... Nope you're right.....new bikes, new cars.....It aint Old School. The Chevelle is easy. My truck is a pain to work on!! Do you still have points in the Chevelle or did you change it over to HEI? Dude......still has original Distrib!!! All #'s match....painted twice.....original # chev color. Still got the original Rallies on it.....But I do have a set of Crager SS's I put on it for shows. Do the parts stores even stock points anymore? On most of mine I swap 'em over to HEI. No maintenance, stronger spark, piece of cake to do and donor dizzys are a dime a dozen, so why not? The only 2 I haven't swapped over is my Chevelle (only cause I haven't gotten around to it) and my Vette, but that's just cause it has a mechanical tach that goes into the dist. Oh, and those factory chrome covers are pretty. The factory rallys look pretty good on 'em (and are getting pretty pricey nowadays!). IMO, a lot better looking than the non-SS style. Those look good on the Vettes and Camaros though. I always liked the Cragers on pretty much everything, but I think I'd use the stocks for shows considering the rest of the car is original. I can still get everything I need. Wheels depend on what show I'm goin to. Collector shows it goes stock. Hotrod shows it goes in Cragers. Unfortunatly changing Ignition or dist would alter the motor By #. Funny how internal motor work dont seem to be considered altered. It seems to be judged on appearance rather than performance. Well, yeah, different looks for different shows. Especially if you're working on trophies. I use my cars as actual drivers, so I don't worry tooo much 'altered'. Especially with ignitions. It takes less than an hour to swap them back and forth, so no biggie. Maybe internal work isn't considered 'altered' because it's too hard to notice? |

Its value that way is over the top. I bought it in 75 for 3200. It apraises now at 95000. as it sits. I have it insured with Lloyd's for 120. Did frame off two yrs ago and 2nd factory paint. Have been offered 120. It will be my son's one day. If he wants to sell it after I'm dead and gone....thats up to him. |

Hell, in that case, I'm not even sure I'd use the Cragars, let alone mod anything else. |

I would go for the 69 hardtop mustang. Just liked the way their body curves for some reason, and not the fastback.

Has it's charme, but I'm kind of fixed on a convertible... Love the wind in my hair ;-)
I don't want a showcar... Just a nice one I can ride whenever I want (if everything works out as planned, I will be able to walk to work... Which is pretty important to me) |

The only convertibles I ever had was a couple of corvettes. I don't care for them but I like the old style T-tops camaro's could have.
