This morning
poetry kissed me on the forehead as she stole 20 dollars from my wallet and drank the last of my wine, then left the room. When I woke up I saw there was a note pinned to the broken refrigerator in the living room. I cried as I read, "I will never be enough for you, so I'm leaving for a while and I'm taking the booze with me. Maybe you should move closer to the ocean and we'll try again." Thank you, though, my love. I guess it has been more years alone with you than I want to admit anymore. |
