my foot!  Is it just me, or do you go back over your posts, and think, "WOW! I cant believe I said that?!?!?",  or "WHOAAAAAAAA! Thats wayyyyyyyyy over the top!".  Ive started to do this, lately... ...and im wondering.  Am I really that "outrageous?",  or does everyone else, do this too?  Kitten, I don't recall ever sticking my foot in your mouth. It's already crowded in there.  As for my "Oops!" moments, last year I created an entire "Oops!" thread. It left me looking like this:  When it happens to you, all that you can do is apologize and move on. Its not like an  moment. Its more like an, "OMG, AM I REALLY THAT MUCH OF A NUTCASE?!?!" And we all know the answer to that.

I wish my screen name was 'Edited by klc' so it would look like a mere signature at the end of all my posts....  But its because, I edit, even if I missed a period, at the end of the sentence.  But I always hate having that "edited" stamp on my thread,  because for some reason,  I feel like the thread is not as pretty, with that on it! Kitten, your sexiness makes up for any editing that you do.  Awwwwwwe stop it,(but not yet ) you silver tongued devil you! |

And this is a perfect example of how MINGLE2 can lift you up, and support you, whenever you start to doubt yourself, or even get a little insecure.
When I tell people that I kicked a drug addiction, with no meetings, or programs, just the people here, at MINGLE, by my side, all the way, lifting me up, and cheering me on everyday, they dont believe me. But if they spent 15 minutes here, they would see how it was possible. I could NOT have a better family, then I have here! We are all so blessed! |

Luv2 ... The first thing out of a persons mouth usually is the right one. It is honest and blunt... can't ask for anything better than that. I like that quality in everyone. It may be hurtful but it is honest.
It is up to that individual on how they will allow it to affect them.

I don't mind when I do it on line as much as when I do it in the real world. Sometimes the filter doesn't kick in quite fast enough. The perfect example, which resulted in my daughter not speaking to me for weeks, goes as follows:
My daughter was explaining to me why she wanted to change her major in college from Pre-Med to Art. She is a very talented artist and I had absolutely no problem with her changing majors. When I asked her what form of Art she was interested in she said, " Computer based Graphic Arts". I thought that's a great field, there is a lot she can do with that. She then went on to tell me how she wanted to be a "Video Game Artist". It was at this point that I really wish the filter had engaged before the following reply came out of my mouth, " There's a career with almost no socially redeeming value whatsoever." She did start speaking to me again about a month later. |
