Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Texas Congressman Ron Paul win slightly in a match-up with President Barack Obama according to a recentRasmussen Reports poll.
Romney leads Obama by 2 percentage points at 45% to 43% while Paul beats Obamawith the same margin at 43% to 41%.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum fare worse against Obama, trailing the President at 49%to 39% and 45% to 43%, respectively.
The recent lead with Obama by Romney and Paul could bedue to strong social conservative stance taken byRick Santorum, which has made Paul and Romney appear more centrist on social issues. Additionally, rising gasoline and food prices along with high unemployment continue to plague Obama's Presidency. The same poll revealed a 42% disapproval rating for Obama versus 26% who approve of Obama's performance as president.
There was some remarks made by Santorum suggesting that Romney and Paul have teamed up againsthim. The Ron Paul 2012 campaign has denied such collusion with Romney, citingthat Paul competes with Santorum more over conservative voters while Romney attracts 'big government' Republicans.

Well, Soujorner, if it helps your recovery any, I'll be voting for Paul a week from Saturday in our primary.

I happen to agree with that size of government.

However unlike Mr. Paul I know mankind is not mature enough to achieve such a lofty form of governance.

So I am willing to settle for a Government that only needs 10% or so of my income to work.

Unfortunately it would appear mankind is not even mature enough to achieve that.

Prove me wrong.
