I concur. Beauty is only skin deep, but layers of gold in the earth's mantel are also rare, thin, and extremely valuable.

It has nothing to do with "shallow". I believe that ugly women were just as much liked by men as beauties back 100,000 years ago, and the men did see extremely ugly as extremely beautiful. The beauty of today owes her popularity to the fact that her beauty is a direct indication of her high fertility. Not even that, actually, because most miscarriages or childless marriages are due to the shortcomings of the male zygote.(No pun intended with 'shortcomings', but now that it's there, I like it.) So both ugly and beautiful women of today are mostly fertile, and that is so because the so-called ugly women of today are also beautiful. Okay, they won't be runway models, but their genes survived because the beautiful so-called uglies are still a thousand times more beautiful than the uglies were a very long time ago.

So what am I saying. The beautiful woman's appeal is governed or was created by a random mutation a very long time ago. There were other mutations in men's eyes and beauty appreciation, that made really ugly women (now extinct) look really sexy and beautiful.

Guess what? ugly women are very poor in their estrogen levels in their youths. Which means ugly women have lowered motherly instincts, lowered resistence to illnesses during pregnancy, and lower fertility rates.

So those guys who liked the uglies, honest and true, produced statistically significantly fewer offspring, thant those guys who married high-estrogen producers. This meant there were more and more men who only liked beautiful women.

So the ugly women died out. The ones we see these days are all rather beautiful, otherwise they would not be around to be seen.

What was the question? Oh, why guys like silicone breasts and augs, and why they like a liposucked woman, or one with Botocks in their Bottocks, etc.

Well, because men establish the beauty of a woman with their eyes. The beauty, the physical beauty, is entirely independent of other senses of men. So what if the woman cheats a bit an tucks some here, snips some there? Big furry deal.

If women are the gifts of the gods, then men sure are rude to look in the mouth of their gifts. But they do, and women know it.

Because it's not men who force women to get the inplants and reconstructive facial surgery for aesthetic reasons. Men simply look and fuuuuuk. It's women who are competing against OTHER women, and that's why the fight is on for looking beautiful. In this sociological set-up, men are constants. They are not variables. It is the woman who is the only variable, inasmuch as modern beautifying agents can help the competetive advantage of one woman when pitted against another woman in the herd, to butt it out in a fair (or, according to Jeanniebean, an unfair) fight to win the exclusive graces of a man.

there is nothing wrong with fixing ones hair and putting on some make up - that I do those things doesn't make me any less real than anyone else, and it has nothing to do with what I am like on the inside. I happen to be interested in & like things like fashion & cosmetics
