Oil is an extremely valuable and necessary commodity...should people die to secure supplies?

Oil is the primary source of energy used for powering transportation. If there is anything worth going to war over, it's oil. Or did I not understand the question?

Russia will run out of oil.. We won't ever run out of weapons..

I think it's clear that we have never invaded a country for oil. We purchase our oil, just like the Irish do and we don't get any special deals. We don't drill for oil, because the environmental lobbies in the Democrat party tell their congressmen and senators to vote against it. The Republican Party is generally for drilling in Alaska, the coasts and the national parks.

It probably is, u can see here dat they are used to being the Boss. Sooner they realise dat China is,the better for everybody

You know before you Europeans decided to start killing each other on a massive scale, old America sat around and really enjoyed being just another country..

But because of our idiotic politicians gave into the whining and crying of the European idiot politicians we became the world police.

Because Iraq hadn't complied with the UN Treaties, I suppose. The same reason that Bill Clinton wanted to go to war with them in 1998, but the UN convinced him to give Saddam more time. The US had just lost 3000 citizens to a cowardly attack and we were concerned about the possibility of Saddam developing WMDs.
