We should study the bible and obey. God wants a better life for us and we tend to ignore Him because of our sin.

‎‎For example the bible is very clear on Homosexuality it is an unnatural act. The way men & women were created was so they could have children. The sensual feeling was given so we would enjoy making love with each other.

If you think that homosexuality is right it is because God gave you up to uncleanness. He is letting you deal with the circumstances you are bringing on yourselves. God still loves you and wants you to have salvation and all you have to do is turn from the wrong you have been doing and ask our Lord for salvation.

There is no one that can sin too much that God can’t reach down and save you from your sin. The only unforgivable sin is not asking our Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.

ROMANS 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Christ built the church on a rock “a strong foundation” a place to assemble our selves together so we can learn what God wants for us. The bible was given to us so we will know how to receive salvation and live life.

MATTHEW 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Just because we don't follow some of the Old Testament customs doesn't mean that we can disobey God. Look to the Old Testament for the foundation and base "The Ten Commandments". Look to the New Testament for instruction on how we should live after Christ has died and rose to save us.

The Jewish people are Gods people but God created us all to have life eternal and like the Jewish people We still sin in this life. If we obey and ask for salvation God will take our sin away.

EXODUS 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth [is] mine:

PSALMS 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Ask God for salvation in Jesus Christ’s Name. Have faith in what your praying and you will be saved. Here is a sample prayer.

“God I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve, so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven."

"Jesus Christ, with your help I place my trust in you for salvation, and I ask that you will forgive me of my sins. I thank you for your wonderful grace and forgiveness.”

Come and tell a Christian church you have asked for salvation and they will help you grow in Christ. Come to Sunday school you will find it to be a great reward.

If somebody doesn't think what they are doing is wrong AND they currently aren't a Christian, why would they "turn from the wrong you have been doing and ask our Lord for salvation"?

Learn the lesson of Jeremiah 18. If a person gives himself up to Jesus, he will be remade to suit God's purpose. Our job as Christians is to bring sinners into the church and then allow Jesus to fix them. Constantly berating homosexuals will never work.

Learn the lesson of the Good Samaritan. Jesus brings the sinners to us and we accept them as they come. The inn keeper didn't reject the traveler, didn't question his ragged, filthy and wounded state. The inn keeper accepted the traveler as he was. We are to be that inn keeper. It is our job to accept the wounded, filthy and ragged people who come to us and care for them until Jesus returns.

1 Corinthians 5 tells us "For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth."

Our job as Christians is NOT to judge the immoral in the world, that is God's job.

I have to differ.

The op is not berating, which is shouting at, criticizing, scolding, reprimanding.

He is lovingly offering a sinner the way of salvation.

This attitude that we can attract homosexuals to Christianity by telling them they are sinners, is harmful. It doesn't attract homosexuals to the church and it actually works to drive them away. The only people Jesus called out as sinners were the religious hypocrites. Call some homosexuals sinners and see if they invite you to dinner. If they don't, don't you think that maybe Jesus used a different method to approach the people of the world? The Jesus I read about in the Bible lived a wholesome life and preached eloquently about God and religion.

Isn't that what Jesus tells us to do here?

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

So why not live that way, encourage all people to come to church and let Jesus form them as he will? That seems to be what Jesus asked of us.

Actually Jeremiah's book and Paul's letter
is more in favor of disfellowshipping
with those who insist they will live sinfully.

Potter to the clay
Jeremiah:

17, I will scatter them as with an east wind
before the enemy;
I will shew them the back,
and not the face,
in the day of their calamity.

Paul:
1 Corinthians 5

1, It is reported commonly
that there is fornication among you,
and such fornication
as is not so much as named among the Gentiles,
that one should have his father's wife.

2, And ye are puffed up,
and have not rather mourned,
that he that hath done this deed might be taken
away from among you.

The bible does not ask us not to minister to them.

19, To wit, that God was in Christ,
reconciling the world unto himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them;
and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20, Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,
as though God did beseech you by us:
we pray you in Christ's stead,
be ye reconciled to God.

2 Corithians 5:19,20

CeriseRose,

The verse from Jeremiah that you quoted was specifically about the Israelites and their sins.

The verses you quoted from 1 Corinthians 5 is about a long time church goer who was sleeping with his father's wife and was proud of the act. And as I already pointed out, further down, Christians are told "But them that are without (outside the church) God judgeth."

You can't pick out the scriptures that you feel prove your point, take them out of context and use them to get your way. In what way are you better than the non-believers who do that to attack Christianity?

I wash my hands of you.

I never was in your hands.

Check to see if you are not taking scripture out of context, Spidercmb.

A church goer who was committing an abominable sin (which is disgusting by definition) and was not willing to repent of it, yes.

But will you have more of a problem with the advice of the Apostle...
that they should be disfellowshipped with?

Or if they are church goers,
do YOU feel that they should be left to their own will (and not being told the truth)
to spread their own philosophy in the Church?

Spidercmb, You seem to underestimate the purpose
for the ministry of the church.

I see no attack in the op. Neither am I attacking.
We don't profess to be self-righteous,
neither do we seek to glorify ourselves.
...our righteousness is in Christ and we give Him glory.

"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault,
ye which are spiritual,
restore such an one in the spirit of meekness;
considering thyself,
lest thou also be tempted."
Galatian 6:1

"When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them,
They that are whole have no need of the physician,
but they that are sick:
I came not to call the righteous,
but sinners to repentance."

Mar 2:17

Christians are given the ministry
of reconciliation unto Christ.

Spider actually is confirming what God has been putting on

my heart for hours all morning.

Every word he spoke in fact was on my heart ....even the

exact scriptures he shared ,to the tee.

Confirmation.

But We only can Love like Jesus does,by spending quality time

with Him , by staying in His Word.... thus, allowing Him to

fill us up daily with His Love.

We can't do this on our own strengh....God is the One who does the

transforming Work in all of us ( sanctification ), BUT we must yield.

But God won't force us to yield.

God won't force us to get the flesh out of the way, or change our

old stinking stinking , which comes by renewing our minds

daily with the Word of God.

That is OUR part to do.

God Saved us, but we still need to renew our minds with the Word

of God.

We are all works in progress.

But when we allow God's Word to renew our minds, and allow God's

Word to fill us up...up to overflowing , then we

will have GOD'S PUREST LOVE for all people SHINING THRU

Us,...and will be able then to LOVE AS JESUS LOVES.

And The Love will show.

THEN when the world SEES the LOVE OF GOD in us, the world will

want what we have too.

There is no absence of love on the op's part.

Virtually everyone of ddrgkd's posts are geared toward
reconciling sinners to our Righteous, Holy, Sovereign God.

1, I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.

2, And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:1,2

If we did not tell that portion of scripture
which restores man to rightstanding with God
we would be held accountable.

There is work in the ministry on the believers part.
We are "workmen".

Out of the byways and hedges we have all come.

We were all bound, entangled in sin... Christ has set us free.

We were all given the invitation to come into the Lord's House.
It is His House. We are His guests.

The Word is given in His House. The Word is our food and drink...
our nourishment. It heals us.

We have been taught through teaching and preaching, the way to conduct ourselves in His House.
Making right fellowship with one another and with Christ.

Those of us who are taught in the Word are to show love yes,
but not our own love. Christ's Love.
We have a tendancy to be partial in our own thinking. We are respecters of persons.

Christ is no respecter of persons.
Meaning He will not favor certain christians over others
because they sacrifice more, they give more compliments to others,
nor because WE agree with what they believe and how they conduct themselves, etc.

"And ye shall know the truth,
and the truth shall make you free."

John 8:32

Christ has set us free.

Go!!! He says...and sin no more.

Christ does not tell us to bid them come in only to leave them without instruction. We are not to leave them alone.
The Spirit works and we work.

Ephesians 4:11-13

11, And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets;
and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12, For the perfecting of the saints,
for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13, Till we all come in the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
unto a perfect man,
unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Homosexuality is a taboo of NATURE and should never be encourages nor commended. Have u seen a gay dog or horse? These are animals but they know better; why cant we humans learn from them? Homosexuality should be strongly condemned and repressed. Thats my take on that... Homosexuals should be treated as critically sick people and keep in mental homes...

Napodan,
most Christians and most of the secular world
would not have that harsh of an opinion.

Christians and the secular world
are allowed to share opinions on that subject
and to teach, but not to punish them.

God is our Judge.

May God be merciful
and protect those who are persecuted
by our personal intolerances.

Though many are reluctant to do so,
we must realize this is a socially acceptible lifestyle
in some circles
and vastly practiced universally.

Personally, I don't endorse the act.
But from a Christian standpoint,
I love whomever God loves.

God knows our beginning and our end.

God told Adam and Eve specifically to... "go forth and multiply."

It wasn't a suggestion...

...there is no way to multiply if men are with men and women are with women. What is going on instead is a fulfilling of the lust of the flesh. Not perpetuation of mankind, not "go forth and multiply." Thus it is a form of an opposite to what God has told human beings to do. In this we can see it is a wrong choice.

So is over-indulging in food. The word for that is gluttony.

So is sleeping with your neighbor's wife/husband. The word for that is adultery.

The Bible has many truths and much guidance toward what God does expect us to do.

When we part from the path God asks us to choose, it is called sin. There are many forms of sin, and every form of sin equals death.

The reason God sent His son to Earth was for the sacrifice on the cross, his death, then his resurrection. We that believe on His son will be saved. They call this being "born again."

There is no sin so deep that God cannot reach. Drunks, heroin addicts, prostitutes, drug dealers, if and when the person is taught the scriptures in love, and they confess their sin and turn from it, and they don't do it alone, God sends his Holy Spirit as a comforter and a guide... with God, failure is not final.

I think we live in a society (at least in America) where the secular culture is accepting to homosexuality. This is a wrong choice from the Christian perspective because those who have studied the Bible know that homosexuality is not a choice that God wants us to make. Therefore making that decision puts you at odds with God. Not because we as Christians wrote and say so, but because the book we look to for guidance tells us so, the Bible. That is our authority on making right and wrong choices.

We are also taught not to have respect of persons. There is a parable where one rich man is treated well, and a poor man is treated not well. That is not a correct way to deal with people.

Let me ask... if there is some type of sin that you are struggling with, and if people attacked you about it, how would you feel? If people kept pounding at you day and night... would it nor seem as if they hate you, not that they love you? How do you treat someone that you know is lost in sin, in a way that they will see the light of Jesus and come around? Abuse and misuse I would not say is "of God." Neither is allowing someone to live in a wretched manner. Think of how we might be tempted to feel when around an alcoholic, but don't we believe God can reach the alcoholic?

What of the glutton? It is equally just as deadly of a sin as any sin for all sin is death. The wages of sin is death. It does not separate out any specific sin there, it just says sin's wages are death. All sin.

So the challenge is to love someone who is homosexual, and not hate them. Somehow you must figure out how to teach them with love, not abuse. We are taught in the scriptures to teach in love.

I do not condone drug addiction, alcoholism, or any other shortcoming of a human being. Christ died for us all. Christ also died so that the homosexual person could find him and begin to change and make correct choices.

Sexual pleasure is much like a drug. It has a powerful effect on the person. It taps into hormones and the body's chemistry in a powerful way. Much like a drug. This is also why so many men and women swarm to the bedroom on the first few dates they go on, being deceived that physical pleasure between a man and a woman equals love. It does not, and a one-night-stand is not in God's plan, either. But those that fall to this type of sin can also be brought into a right relationship with Jesus.

I was just reading in Mark where they lowered a paralyzed man down in to Jesus on a mat. He told him his sins were forgiven. They bickered about it, so he said, what is easier, to forgive sins or to say get up and walk? So he told the man to get up and walk. And he walked out to the amazement of all.

He is this same Jesus today, no matter what paralyzes us. Whether we are lost in sin, or we are bitter toward those who we think are lost in sin. I don't think either one pleases God.

But it is as simple as Jesus said, love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, and mind... and love your neighbor as yourself.

No where did he say to ever hate people fro any reason.

We must reflect on how we approach those that we know according to the Bible are not doing something right. But it might be a toothpick in their eye, and a huge log in our's... so always look in the mirror first.

And pray without ceasing.
