To lead a happy life we need mental peace.
To have mental peace we need meditation, practice of silence.
It is also true that unless we are mentally hungry for some thing we can't achieve it.Achieving desired object with hard labour gives me real satisfaction.
What does mental peace mean to you?
What technique do you adopt to achieve it?smokin

Well everyone already thinks I am nuts. I get in a yoga pose with the soles of my feet together, I do the whole index finger to thumb touching thing, rest them upside down on my knees and stare into the flame of a candle until my mind drags me mentally into the flame and I forget all else. I sometimes play music with no vocals when I do this.

peace of mind is no small gift.....

i go to the beach and build fires
i use nature to open a sacred space
within the circle of the fire there
is peace and healing

i practice several different meditations
currently what is known as japa

as of late my meditation has been really challenging

I just draw into myself and listen to my breathing and feel.

And what is nuts about that? I would do the same thing if I were physically able. I did do it when I was in my 20's. Interestingly enough, although I stopped meditating formally after that, the benefits seemed to carry on for many years.

Actually the biggest benefit I've found from yoga is the focus on correct breathing. Once you've learned it, you don't forget it.
